Since announcing her departure from The Real Housewives of Atlanta last month, NeNe Leakes has been on the move. After recently unveiling her new Lennethia Lounge that's in the works, the Bravolebrity is already teasing the set of her newest TV gig.
Leakes has been the standout star on RHOA since season one. After being the only OG cast member left on the hit reality show, Leakes took to her YouTube channel last month to reveal her exit. She explained to her fans that she was unable to come to a contract agreement with the network and opted to split after 13 years with the franchise. Her blunt and outspoken personality had her at the center of the drama over the years. Having had spats with almost every housewife in Atlanta, fans are still upset about her removal. But, just because she won't be in the next season of RHOA doesn't mean Leakes is done with reality television.
The Glee star took to her Instagram Story on Tuesday to give her followers a sneak peek at her latest TV venture. In images capture by All About The Tea, Leakes shared short video clips from what appears to be a set for a new project. "Set Life! A little different these days,” she captioned the first video. She left the second clip captionless but both showed the Swag Boutique owner seated in a production chair around members from a film crew. While she didn't include details about the mystery project, there were previous announcements that hint at what she could be working on.
Back in June, it was revealed that Leakes signed on to host a new glam squad-based show on the E! network. The show, reportedly titled Glamsquad Showdown, is set to be a lighthearted reality beauty competition series that aims to showcase the best celebrity hair and makeup squads. It's possible that this is what Leakes is on set for, but there hasn't been official confirmation. The wife and mother of two hasn't been seen with any of her former castmates since announcing her departure.
Leakes even skipped out on attending Cynthia Bailey and Mike Hill's wedding last weekend. There were reports that Leakes attempted to get Bravo to pay her to attend the pandemic nuptials. But those rumors haven't been yet confirmed or denied. With the upcoming opening of her lounge and her new TV gig, it's clear that Leakes is doing just fine without RHOA.
