The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore is explaining why her divorce from Marc Daly hasn't been finalized, over a year after she filed the papers. Kenya initiated the breakup in May 2021, ending a long-distance marriage that had lasted for four years. Their rocky relationship was showcased on the series. Kenya once prayed for marriage and a family, and while her dream came true for a while, her union with Marc did not last. He is still living in his native Brooklyn, NY, and remained there after he and Kenya welcomed their daughter Brooklyn Daly in 2018.

One year after Brooklyn's arrival, Marc was the first to file for divorce. He did so two days after the family appeared on The Tamron Hall Show for their first joint interview. The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 12 saw Kenya claiming all was well with her and Marc, despite the breakup news that was making headlines. During Marc's guest appearances, his "alpha male" demeanor was evident, and the women noticed how Kenya became "Ken" around her husband. During the season, a "hot mic" moment captured Marc's disdain for Kenya, as well as the fact that he didn't like filming the show. When season 13 came around, Kenya was an emotional wreck, who was having trouble coming to terms with her divorce.

Marc has attempted to stop Kenya from featuring Brooklyn on the show. However, with Kenya working as a reality star, the courts ruled in her favor. During her cameos alongside her mom, Brooklyn stole the hearts of viewers. Her birthday party even served as a location for one of the more memorable shade-throwing sessions in season 14. If it were up to Marc, their daughter wouldn't be on the show. Viewers were concerned about Kenya during her marriage to Marc. The former Miss USA is known for being a bold and outspoken leader within the group, but she was noticeably more submissive whenever Marc was around.

In season 14, Kenya shouted at Drew Sidora's husband Ralph Pittman, after his treatment of Drew reminded her of the downside of being with Marc. She admitted that her own past trauma triggered her response to Ralph. The Real Housewives of Atlanta has followed Kenya's journey, from hoping to find love and welcoming a child, to actually being married and having a daughter. Now, cameras are capturing the rebirth of Kenya, as a fierce single mom who's ready to mingle.
