The former star of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Alexis Bellino has gotten in hot water recently for referring to her housekeepers as "maids" and then shaming them for not cleaning her house up to her standards on Instagram. After receiving backlash, the former housewife went back to social media to defend herself and even block some "haters."

Bellino left the franchise in season 8 after appearing on four consecutive seasons as a main housewife, then recently reappeared in season 14 as a guest housewife. She's known for being a contentious character who would often rub other castmembers and fans the wrong way. Since leaving the hit show, Bellino has become a full-time mother to her three children - James, Melania, and Mackenna - who she shares with her ex-husband Jim after their divorce in 2018. After staying out of the spotlight for many years, she caused some waves after posting a picture of her couch and a mess underneath it on Instagram, with a caption talking about how her "maids" aren't doing a good job deep cleaning.

Her followers called her out on her use of the word "maid" and for sounding pretentious and rude. Though she got quite the backlash, Bellino kept the Instagram post up. She then responded in two posts on December 1st. The first one addresses the housekeepers controversy, she wrote, "To all: I can and will post whatever I want on my IG. My maids are well paid for and I love them. It was a joke." She then continued to tell all of the people outraged with her post to "Get over yourselves, stop trolling, find happiness." She then asked those followers to "please unfollow" her and said she's not on social media for the "approval," and that she doesn't "need followers." The former housewife explains that she will continue to be herself on her social media platform. She concludes the lengthy post, seen below, with a light threat of being blocked, writing, "You will be blocked cuz I don't have Instagram for your acceptance, not for any of you to spread hate." Below is the original "maid" post that the followers are referring to:

In her second post, she writes, "I’m actually enjoying blocking all of you haters." She continues, "I’ve always left hateful comments up because I don’t really care what you think of me." She then reveals that since her son is on Instagram, she feels differently and calls out the "haters/trolls" specifically, saying, that she doesn't care if she ends up with "zero followers" by the end of this. The former housewife says that her family is strong and her kids know that the followers calling her out are just "miserable folks."  She continued the post, writing, "I will make this my life’s mission to stop all of you as I have kids coming into social medial." Then reminded her followers that they followed her and not the other way around. She concludes the second lengthy post, "God bless you all. Find your true purpose in life. I promise you that God doesn’t want you hating go social media."

At the end of the day, this housewife is standing up for herself and is totally unashamed of who she is. Though many fans disagreed with her for calling out her housekeepers on social media, some of her fans totally agreed with her and even encouraged her to fire them. Which begs the question of if this petty feud wasn't invented in order to get people talking about the former housewife, in hopes to put her back on the radar for a possible return to Bravo - which may be a stretch. However, there's always the chance she could end up back if The Real Housewives of Orange County is in need of a villain.
