Here's where fans of the Child's Play franchise can buy a "real" Chucky doll online. The '80s was a famous golden era for the horror genre, where many of the most iconic villains were created. Pinhead, Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, the Predator and many more arrived during this decade, as did Child's Play's Chucky. The original movie started life as Blood Buddy, where a small child's subconscious rage against the adults around him caused his toy doll to come to live and murder them. The final movie reworked this concept, with a serial killer named Charles Lee Ray (Brad Dourif) transferring his soul into a "Good Guy" doll named Chucky before he dies of a gunshot wound.
While the quality of rival slasher franchises like Halloween or A Nightmare On Elm Street dipped up and down, the Child's Play series is the most consistent. That's because creator Don Mancini has been creatively involved with each one - barring the 2019 remake - moving from screenwriter on the first four entries to director from 2004's Seed Of Chucky onwards. The series is also something of a family affair, featuring many of the same cast and crew returning, with Dourif's daughter Fiona becoming the new series heroine Nica starting from 2013's Curse Of Chucky.
After seven movie entries, the franchise moved to television with Syfy's Chucky in 2021. This series dived into the backstory of Charles Lee Ray while bringing in both new and returning faces. Over 30 years after the original entry, the popularity of the Child's Play franchise and Chucky himself shows little sign of waning. Those fans who want a good quality Good Guy doll can order one at Trick or Treat Studios, which has both an officially licensed Plush Body Good Guy Doll and an Ultimate Chucky doll, for when Chucky turns murderous.
For those who want either doll, there's a catch; they're not available until December 2022. Since they're collectibles, they also come with a higher price tag too. That said, they're very high quality and look as if they could have been screen-used props from Child's Play. For those who don't want to wait, Trick or Treat Studios also has Chucky dolls from Child's Play 2, Bride Of Chucky and other doll characters like Tiffany or Glen from Seed Of Chucky.
There's even an empty Good Guy doll box or wrapping paper from Child's Play 2. Syfy's Chucky will return for a second season also, which will premiere in the fall of 2022. It should also be noted that Trick or Treat Studios is unlikely to feature the soul of Charles Lee Ray possessing it - which is a good thing for many reasons.
