Reacher has already recast one of the new incoming characters for season 2. The series, which is based on the Jack Reacher novels by Lee Child, premiered on Prime Video in February 2022. It follows Alan Ritchson as a former U.S. Army military policeman who is blamed for murder and arrested before helping unravel a conspiracy in the rural Georgia town of Margrave. Reacher also stars Malcolm Goodwin, Willa Fitzgerald, Chris Webster, Bruce McGill, and Maria Sten.

Per Deadline, Terminator 2: Judgment Day star Robert Patrick has joined the cast of Reacher season 2. He will be replacing Rory Cochrane as new recurring character Shane Langston, an ex-NYPD officer who now works security for a defense contractor. Cochrane dropped out of the series due to scheduling conflicts and had not yet shot any scenes for the new season, which is based on the 2007 Reacher novel Bad Luck and Trouble.

What Robert Patrick Has Done Since T2

Robert Patrick as the T-1000 in the Boiler Room in Terminator 2 Judgment Day

Patrick is an actor who has played many roles over his career, but Terminator 2 is one of his most iconic. He played the liquid metal Terminator known as the T-1000, who was sent from the future to destroy Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) and her young son John (Edward Furlong). In the three decades since that action epic first graced screens, he has held quite a few roles that will prepare him for this new undertaking.

Since T2, he has taken roles in a wide variety of genres, including sci-fi horror (The Faculty), comedy (Community), and Western (the Yellowstone spinoff 1923). However, he has still continued to bring his talents to the action genre. Between the early 1990s and now, he has honed his craft in titles including Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, The Unit, and Safe House.

The star hasn't given up on the genre in recent years, either. He has already brought his talents to the recent action series Peacemaker on HBO Max and The Night Agent on Netflix. Now that he's found a home at Prime Video as well, Patrick's considerable screen presence will make him a similarly invaluable part of the Reacher cast.
