A hilarious Red Dead Redemption 2 mod sees Jack, the young son of series protagonist John Marston, engage in a bloody firefight with law enforcement while escaping prison. Rockstar Games' open-world title serves as a prequel to 2010's Red Dead Redemption, taking players back to the dying years of the American Wild West. Among its large cast of frontier figures who return from the first game, Red Dead Redemption 2 features John Marston's son Jack as an innocent young boy throughout its storyline.

Released back in 2018, Red Dead Redemption 2 was met with massive praise for its immersive open world, photorealistic graphics and emotional narrative. Since the game's launch, many fans have attempted to improve and expand the Wild West simulator through the dedicated development of mods. Many of these fan-made creations expand upon RDR2'S open-world design, adding additional activities for players to complete including full-time paying jobs. Other mods make much more fantastical additions to the experience, such as the ability to fly around as a bird or ride across the map on the back of a giant cougar. One fan's Undead Nightmare mod for Red Dead Redemption 2 even strives to emulate the first installment's beloved survival expansion by adding hordes of zombies to the American frontier.

Using one of Red Dead Redemption 2's more humorous mods, Reddit user vo7h has posted a video of young Jack Marston escaping from prison while being pursued by law enforcement. The mod allows the player to control Jack, and the young boy is able to carry out all the same actions as RDR2's adult protagonists. This includes running from police officers and wielding a pistol, which the toddler uses to shoot back at his pursuers. While it is very strange to see the tiny Jack Marston in the middle of a firefight, the mod does foreshadow the violent future as an outlaw which is detailed in Red Dead Redemption's epilogue.

While mods are usually reserved for PC gamers, and make large additions or alterations to a title, one gamer recently made changes to a console version of Red Dead Redemption 2. While the title is currently capped at 30 frames per second on the PlayStation 4, a Red Dead Redemption 2 PS4 Pro mod proves that the title can maintain a steady 50 FPS on the enhanced version of the last-generation console. This unofficial patch is meant to prove that RDR2 could easily reach beyond its current limits if Rockstar Games were to issue an official patch, and a patch for the game's PlayStation 5 version could definitely let gamers reach a steady 60 FPS.

Through the creation and use of mods, Red Dead Redemption 2 players have been able to endlessly evolve Rockstar Games' beloved outlaw simulator. The playable Jack Marston mod, in particular, can lead to some truly hilarious moments thanks to the character's small stature and enduring innocence throughout the story. While Red Dead Redemption's Jack Marston may grow up to be a brutal outlaw, witnessing him gun down lawmen as a small child is still a very bizarre sight to see.
