One Red Dead Redemption 2 fan has recreated one of Batman's most memorable enemies to near perfection, reimagining The Penguin in the game’s Old West style in the process. Players have been using Rockstar's hit open-world cowboy simulator to pay tribute to other famous media since the game was first released to critical acclaim and chart-topping sales back in 2018, both within its gameplay and on the larger stage of the internet.

This has ranged from using Red Dead Redemption 2’s character customization tools to make spot-on recreations of such figures as Jamie Foxx’s titular Django Unchained character to drawing fan art of Red Dead Redemption 2’s Arthur Morgan clad in samurai armor from this year’s hit game, Ghost Of Tsushima. One player even dabbled into the realm of DC Comics by modding their hero into an all-powerful, Superman-like being. Now, another one has drawn from this same lore to remake one of comics’ most iconic villains within Red Dead Redemption 2’s western framework.

Recently, Redditor TwinkieSnake posted a screenshot of a character perfectly done up to resemble classic Batman antagonist The Penguin to the Red Dead Redemption subreddit. All of the Penguin’s trademark features - from his pointy nose and withered face to his classic top hat, monocle, and black suit wardrobe - are all captured near-perfectly within the confines of Red Dead Redemption’s 1899 esthetic. Check it out in the image below:

The character of Oswald Copplepot, AKA The Penguin, has remained a timeless staple of Batman’s mythos ever since his introduction in the pages of Detective Comics back in 1941. He has been brought to life outside the comics in many different mediums, thanks to memorable performances from legendary Rocky actor Burgess Meredith in the 1966 Batman television series, Danny DeVito in Batman Returns, Robin Lord Taylor in Gotham, and a virtually unrecognizable Colin Farrell in next year’s The Batman. As for video games, Copplepot was voiced by the ever-prolific Nolan North in Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham series, and he was a recurring franchise from 2011’s Batman: Arkham City onward.

TwinkieSnake’s recreation of the Penguin in Red Dead Redemption 2 is just about spot-on, helped by the fact that the character has always dressed in an old-timey fashion that wouldn't look too out of place in the game's 1899 setting. His face is also perfectly captured, looking not too far removed from the Penguin seen in the Batman: Arkham games. Overall, it makes one fantasize about what a western version of Gotham City would look like, with a cowboy version of the Dark Knight rounding up villains like Penguin on the back of his trusty steed.
