Rockstar Games' Red Dead Redemption 2 has a cast full of competent criminals, from the charismatic Dutch van der Linde to the seemingly-unstoppable protagonist Arthur Morgan himself. Despite players naturally gaining a soft spot for many of the gang's members in RDR2, it is still worthwhile to acknowledge how dangerous these characters can be to their enemies, the general public, or even one another. Although there are a few key characters in RDR2 that have may appear to be the gang's most dangerous member, one Red Dead Redemption 2 character ends up standing head and shoulders above the rest.

The most obvious answer to which gang member is the most dangerous in Red Dead Redemption 2 would be Arthur Morgan. Time and time again he is shown to be the most capable member of the Van der Linde gang, gunning down small armies of O'Driscolls and law enforcement while completing various tasks for his group. Arthur Morgan can easily accrue a massive bounty in RDR2 thanks to his competency, and there is nothing that can slow him down until his eventual diagnosis. With that said, Arthur Morgan is also shown to have a strong moral compass, one that encourages him to avoid unnecessary violence (unless the player chooses to do otherwise). Because Arthur is genuinely trustworthy and has no interest in harming the average innocent person, it's difficult to label him as Red Dead Redemption 2's most dangerous member.

Red Dead Redemption 2's Dutch, leader of the Van der Linde gang, is another contender to be RDR2's most dangerous member, although in a way much different from Arthur. Although Dutch is a capable gunman in his own right, what really makes him dangerous is the control he has over others. Dutch's gang is made up of some of the most capable fighters and con artists in the entire Red Dead Redemption franchise, and thanks to Dutch's charisma he has the ability to tell them what to do and when to do it. His charisma, combined with his slipping mental state in the latter half of Red Dead Redemption 2, makes him even more threatening, since he seems to no longer care about the lives of innocent people. Still, there is one member of Dutch's own gang even more dangerous than he is.

Why Micah Bell is RDR2's Most Dangerous Character

Micah stands with his arms outstretched

From the moment the player breaks Micah bell out of jail in Strawberry, he shows his true colors as a completely unpredictable murderer. Micah shoots up half a town just to get his favorite guns back, and continues to demonstrate how uncontrollable he is throughout the rest of Red Dead Redemption 2's storyline. As if his lack of morality and his skills as a fighter don't already make him dangerous enough, he is also shown to be a master manipulator. It's the reason he was able to convince Dutch that Arthur and John, two men he had formed a father-like bond with, were less trustworthy than himself. His ability to kill and deceive without any regard for others is why Micah should go down as RDR2's most dangerous character by a mile.

Nearly any member of the Van der Linde gang should be considered a dangerous character in Red Dead Redemption 2, but Arthur, Dutch, and Micah definitely stand out as the three most capable of doing terrible things. Whereas Arthur, and to a lesser extent Dutch, have a moral compass that keeps them in check, Micah Bell simply does not, which locks him in as the gang's most menacing member.
