A new jobs mod for Red Dead Redemption 2 will let outlaw Arthur Morgan work as a bartender, a coal miner, and even a hunter. Rockstar Games' open-world prequel to the original Red Dead Redemption gives players missions with objectives that advance the story, lets players complete side-activities like bounty hunting and playing poker, and even encourages players to traverse the game's expansive wilderness. With so many things to do and the introduction of its online component, Red Dead Online, players keep coming back to play the action-adventure video game. Another reason the game has such a dedicated player base is in part thanks to the modding community.

Loyal fans of the game have developed many mods over the years since Red Dead Redemption 2 released, often offering advanced gameplay for players. Some of the mods have been comical, like an RDR2 mod that turns Arthur into a parakeet once he eats a certain type of in-game berry. As a Carolina Parakeet, he is able to cause destruction by flying into a saloon and shattering the windows and bottles. Eventually, the effect of the berries wears off and allows him to turn back into a human again. Other mods aim to improve a player's experience, enhancing performance, lighting, and even adding new gameplay elements.

As reported by PC Gamer, a new Nexus Mods Jobs Mod created by Bolmin lets the player's Arthur spend his time working in several different occupations, earning some money in gainful employment. Modder Bolmin's Jobs Mod lets players spend more time working at a job outside of the main story, with Arthur able to earn minimum wage working as a miner, bartender, hunter, shepherd, dockworker, or deliverer. Describing how the fan-made content will work, the creator explains:

"Jobs are similar [sic] in design to camp chores, with some extra encounters, however they are not meant to be action-packed. The main idea is to have different ambient tasks that you can just kick-back and enjoy the world or atmosphere."

Those looking to download the mod can find it at Nexus Mods.

Bolmin's mod works by showing blips with available jobs in various cities around the world on the Red Dead Redemption 2 map. If the player walks up to the correct NPC located at that spot, the player will be given the opportunity to sign up for the job that was listed on the map. Bolmin's Jobs Mod should offer new reasons for fans to jump back into the 2018 hit, whether it be by working in the mines, or as a bartender. Due to the nature of the mod, it's possible that even more jobs will be added in the future, making the creator one to watch out for on Nexus Mods.

While many modders opt for action-packed or comical additions and revamps of traditional game worlds, like the Red Dead Redemption 2 Pig Rider mod, Bolmin's RDR2 mod aims to offer an immersive yet simple new way to experience the game. Mod users are expected to relax and enjoy Red Dead Redemption 2's world, or, at the very least, they can earn a little extra money in a more legal way than usual.
