The massive, hyper-realistic world of Red Dead Redemption 2 boasts plenty of useful plants and animals for players to discover. Some harvestable plants are unique to particular areas, while others are found more expansively across the states featured in RDR2. Fortunately, the tall, green stalks of Indian Tobacco that Arthur might need can be found in several areas on the map.

Indian Tobacco can be used in several crafting recipes such as Special Snake Oil, Potent Snake Oil, and Potent Miracle Tonic. Arthur can also eat the plant to increase his Dead Eye Core. The plant is available throughout West Elizabeth, Lemoyne, and Ambarino, so players need not worry about gathering enough for these recipes.

Indian Tobacco is often surrounded by other green plants, bushes, or grass, so it can sometimes hide in plain sight. While searching, players can use Arthur's Eagle Eyes ability to find them more easily.  Arthur's Eagle Eyes can be activated by pressing L3 and R3 together on PlayStation, LS, and RS together on Xbox One or clicking the mouse's scroll wheel on PC. This ability will highlight plants in the area and create a small, glittering cloud around harvestable plants nearby.

Where to Find Indian Tobacco in Red Dead Redemption 2

RDR2: Where To Find Indian Tobacco

Using Arthur's trusty horse, players can start searching in New Hanover as quite a few Indian Tobacco nodes can be found in the hills along the Dakota River. More can be located near the crossroads southwest of Caliban's Seat and Caliban's Seat. In other regions, try looking northwest of the Van Horn Trading Post in Annesburg, at roughly the midpoint between the Kamassa River and the Lannahechee River. The Indian Tobacco is often surrounded by other flora and can occasionally be located near the bases of trees.

The plant is plentiful in multiple regions of Red Dead Redemption 2's expansive map, and players should have luck in woodlands and grassy, plains-like areas, such as Scarlett Meadows in Lemoyne. In addition, some locations near the shores of Flat Iron Lake grow Indian Tobacco: an area west of Southfield Flats, west of Rhodes, and south of Bolger Glade.

Players looking to achieve the "Picked to Perfection" trophy/achievement can use the abundance of Indian Tobacco nodes to speed things along. The accolade requires players to collect 25 of any plant, herb, or mushroom, including several of the same kind. Arthur can complete the task easily with the plants nearby in the early chapters of Red Dead Redemption 2, especially with the many Indian Tobacco plants in New Hanover.
