In honor of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart's forthcoming arrival, Sackboy: A Big Adventure players will soon gain access to free skins for Ratchet, Clank, and Rivet. Since its release alongside the PlayStation 5 in November 2020, the Sackboy-starring platformer has played host to several PlayStation-centric skins.

One such DLC costume hit the PlayStation Store in late May, allowing players to introduce Returnal's protagonist, Selene, to the craft-made world of Sackboy. Plus, a number of outfits based on PlayStation characters featured in Sackboy's Digital Deluxe and Special Editions, including Deacon St. John from Days Gone, Death Stranding's Sam Porter Bridges, Connor of Detroit: Become Human fame, and Ghost of Tsushima hero Jin Sakai. In the coming days, three more characters associated with the PlayStation brand will make their Sackboy: A Big Adventure debut.

The official LittleBigPlanet Twitter account surprised fans by announcing plans to unleash three Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart skins on the PlayStation Store for Sackboy: A Big Adventure. Thus, come Friday, June 11, Sackboy fans will have the option to download costumes modeled after Ratchet, Clank, and series newcomer, Rivet. Better still, a subsequent post from the LittleBigPlanet account revealed each of the three costumes will be available to access free of charge.

Though a small touch, it's neat that Sony and developer Sumo Digital continue to honor PlayStation heroes by giving them their time in the limelight on Craftworld. That the Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart costumes will go live at no extra cost, like the Returnal DLC, counts as a nice bonus, too.

Insomniac Games' latest action-packed Ratchet & Clank adventure won't hit store shelves until the end of this week, but the game's release period is already off to a solid start. Most notably, the review embargo recently lifted and, as of writing, the title's score on Metacritic sits comfortably at an 89. Reviews for Rift Apart have, thus far, been incredibly positive, with some even suggesting the intergalactic caper may warrant recognition as a Game of the Year contender. It's bound to have pretty staunch competition, too. After all, this year will see titles such as Halo: Infinite, Horizon: Forbidden West, and Resident Evil Village vying for the honor.
