The series was very strong from start to finish and a big part of that is the work that the actors put in. While many of the characters are well-known from the world of television, with the cast having been in the likes of Sons Of Anarchy and American Horror Story, they've also featured in some fantastic movies as well.

Charlie Carver - The Boys In The Band - 6.7 (2020)

Charlie Caver Roles

Charlie Carver takes on the role of Huck Finnigan in Ratched and he's one of the most likable and kind characters within the entire series. The war veteran works hard to help everyone he can, and unlike other characters, he doesn't always have ulterior motives.

Away from being a nurse in Ratched, Carver is also well-known for his work on Desperate Housewives. As well as that, Carver is part of The Boys in the Band, which is a truly gripping and entertaining film.

Corey Stoll - Ant-Man - 7.3 (2015)

Corey Stoll Roles

Corey Stoll took on the role of Charles Wainwright in Ratched where he got to work as a hitman who was paid by Lenore Osgood to murder Dr. Hanover. However, Charles ends up wrapped up with Mildred Ratched, which causes him more problems than he initially expects.

Stoll is a very well-known face within this series, with a lot of people knowing him from his House Of Cards role, where he played Congressman, Pete Russo. However, in the movie world, Stoll has been involved in the MCU where he was Ant-Man's first nemesis, Yellowjacket.

Judy Davis - Barton Fink - 7.7 (1991)

Judy Davis

Judy Davis is one of the real highlights in Ratched, taking on the role of Nurse Betsy Bucket. She really gets to explore the character in several different ways from being a grumpy and angry boss to showing humor, sympathy and kindness.

All of that made Betsy Bucket one of the most compelling characters in the series. But aside from that, Judy is well-known for her role in the comedy, Barton Fink. The film follows a playwright who is trying to make it in Hollywood, only to discover that the world isn't what he expected.

Finn Wittrock - La La Land - 8.0 (2016)

Finn Wittrock Roles

Finn Wittrock was fantastic in Ratched, playing the deranged Edmund Tolleson. It was a tough role to take on, with Edmund being a very complicated character who deals with mental health issues and takes out his frustrations by killing people, but it's a role he does well in.

Wittrock is well-known for working with Ryan Murphy as he has appeared in American Horror Story previously. However, his greatest movie role so far came in the popular musical, La La Land. He played the role of Greg who was Mia's boyfriend early on in the movie.

Sophie Okonedo - Hotel Rwanda - 8.1 (2004)

Sophie Okendo

Sophie Okonedo's greatest movie role to date came back in 2004 when she starred alongside MCU star Don Cheadle in the gripping Hotel Rwanda. The film focuses on a hotel that houses refugees, with Sophie playing the wife of the hotel owners,  Tatiana Rusesabagina.

Her impressive performance earned Okonedo a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards, showing just how good she was. During Ratched, Okonedo showed her talents again, playing Charlotte Wells, who had multiple personalities, which really allowed her to act in a variety of ways.

Sarah Paulson - 12 Years A Slave - 8.1 (2013)

Sarah Paulson - Ratched

Sarah Paulson is the lead character in Ratched, taking on the main role as Mildred Ratched herself. Paulson is tremendous in this series, really helping to develop the character as someone who can be kind, emotional and funny, yet incredibly cold and dangerous as well.

This is something that she's done plenty of times throughout her career in American Horror Story, which is where Paulson is best-known. However, she also thrived in the incredible 12 Years A Slave, playing the character of Mistress Epps.

Jon Jon Briones - Miss Saigon: 25th Anniversary - 8.2 (2016)

Jon Jon Briones roles

Ratched was the biggest role of Jon Jon Briones's career to this point, taking on the role of Dr. Hanover who had a major impact on the series. The doctor clearly wanted to help treat people but ended up making some disastrous decisions while trying to do that.

Jon Jon played it brilliantly, just as he did when he was part of Miss Saigon. He really showed his acting ability while being part of the show though. He was actually nominated for the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance as the Engineer, showing just how well he did.

Sharon Stone - Casino - 8.2 (1995)

Sharon Stone roles

Sharon Stone was Lenore Osgood within Ratched, the richest character in the series and someone who was hellbent on getting Dr. Hanover's head on a plate. Stone did a great job of taking on this role, making Lenore a strong character that people shouldn't cross.

Stone is someone who has had a fantastic career though, and one of her best roles was in 1995's Casino. Stone played the character Ginger, and she earned a Golden Globe for Best Actress through this performance, having also been nominated for an Academy Award for the same performance.

Cynthia Nixon - Amadeus - 8.3 (1984)

Cynthia Nixon

There's no doubt that Cynthia Nixon is best known for playing Miranda Hobbes in the incredibly successful series, Sex and the City, and she took on that role again for the two movies as well. However, her best film (according to IMDb) is Amadeus, which focuses on the life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Nixon plays Lorl in this film, who is hired by Salieri to work as a maid, but in secret, she's actually spying on Mozart to see what he's working on. In Ratched, Nixon takes on an equally complex role as Gwendolyn Briggs who ends up being the romantic partner of Mildred Ratched herself.

Amanda Plummer - Pulp Fiction - 8.9 (1994)

Amanda Plummer

Amanda Plummer is certainly the funniest character within Ratched. Working as the hotel owner, Louise, she runs a very steady ship and doesn't want any funny business taking place under her watch. She thrives and has a truly brilliant performance throughout the show, stealing the scene whenever she's involved.

That comedic ability is something she's always had, even when playing a slightly psychotic character. She displayed that during the classic movie, Pulp Fiction. Amanda played Honey Bunny in the film and certainly impressed during her time in the film.
