Screen Rant has the exclusive trailer, poster and stills reveal for the upcoming documentary film, Randy Rhoads: Reflections of a Guitar Icon. The VMI Worldwide production will be available through Video On Demand beginning on May 6, and aims to be a comprehensive look into the life and times of legendary musician Randy Rhoads. Not only was Rhoads the original guitarist for Quiet Riot, but he was best known for playing alongside the infamous Ozzy Osbourne.

Directed by Andre Relis, a prolific producer who also helmed the music documentary NWA & Eazy-E: Kings of Compton, the new film is narrated by Tracii Guns of L.A. Guns and Guns N' Roses. It features never before seen footage from Rhoads himself, as well as interviews with his contemporaries. The likes of Dana Strum, Ron Sobol, Rudy Sarzo, and Eddie Van Halen all make appearances to celebrate the iconic guitarist's life 40 years after his tragic demise.

Randy Rhoads: Reflections of a Guitar Icon begins with the formation of Quiet Riot with bandmates Kelly Garni, Drew Forsyth, and Kevin DuBrow in the 70s and charts the band's rising popularity in the Los Angeles club circuit. After that popularity fails to crystallize into a lucrative record deal, however, Rhoads receives an offer to become the lead guitarist for former Black Sabbath singer Ozzy Osbourne. As you can see in the trailer exclusively shared by Screen Rant, the documentary pays special attention to Osbourne's song "Crazy Train," and Randy’s groundbreaking guitar solo contained therein.

Director Andre Relis gave a statement explaining what inspired him to craft this film in commemoration of Randy's legacy:

“I’m beyond excited to be sharing Randy Rhoads: Reflections of a Guitar Icon with the world,” says director and VMI founder Andre Relis. “I grew up listening to Randy in Quiet Riot and Ozzy Osbourne, and was inspired by his unmatchable talent. So much that I actually joined a band in the 90’s — a punk, metal infusion called Rubberneck — and became a touring artist. I’m thankful to my team of producers, and thankful to Tracii for helping to narrate the film and showcase the life of such a legendary guitarist.”

Narrator and fellow musician Tracii Guns expressed heartfelt sentiments on sharing Rhoads' story as well:

“Randy Rhoads was the guitarist for me that had it all and his recipe was the perfect blend of blues, hard rock and classical music. Being asked to narrate his story is one of the greatest honors of my lifetime.”
