In reality, however, The Ranch is filmed in front of a live audience on a sound stage at the Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank, California. To be more specific, The Ranch is shot on Stage 19, a sound stage where episodes of hit shows including The West Wing have also been filmed in the past, alongside scenes from movies like Tom Cruise vehicle The Last Samurai.
Plenty of real Colorado locations are name-dropped in The Ranch though like Denver, Telluride, Norwood and Grand Junction while the opening credits of the series feature scenes of the picturesque small town of Ouray.
