Rampage: Full Designs for George, Lizzie, and Ralph Revealed by New Toys

Designs for the main animal characters in the upcoming Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson action adventure Rampage  have been revealed with the first photos of the movie's toy line. As one of the biggest box office stars on the planet, Johnson naturally has done some big movies. He is one of the reasons the Fast and Furious films have become a multi-billion dollar franchise, and most recently, the former WWE star is putting his muscle into the holiday movie hit Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, which unseated Star Wars: The Last Jedi  over the four day New Year's weekend as the nation's No. 1 film. As of Wednesday, the film has already earned an impressive $202 million stateside.

So, it only makes sense that one of the film industry's biggest stars start doing films with bigger co-stars -- in terms of scale -- than he's used to working with, and he's getting it with Rampage, which is due in theaters April 2o. And now that the toy shelves have cleared after holiday season and stores start to reset their stock with 2018 offerings, toy companies are starting to reveal tie-in products for their winter and spring movie releases. Among them is the action figure product from Rampage, which highlights the designs of the genetically-altered animals that are featured alongside Johnson in the video game-turned-big screen action extravaganza.

According to ToyArk, the main licensee for Rampage is Lanard Toys, which produced the 18-inch tall Kong, as well as 3 3/4-inch scale action figure sets (including figures of Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson and Toby Kebbell) for Kong: Skull Island last spring. Based on official images released by Lanard, it looks like fans will be getting a genetically mutated version of George, the white gorilla pal of Davis Okoye (Johnson), as well as mutated versions of the wolf Ralph, and the crocodile Lizzie (all labeled "Big City Brawl").

In addition, judging by the 3 3/4-inch scale of the action figures of the human characters that come with each Rampage playset, it appears that Lanard is also releasing figures of Ralph and Lizzie just before they come into contact with the canisters that contain green mist, which turns them into oversized monsters (labeled "Canister Contact").

It's always exciting for movie fans when new product is revealed, and judging the first-look at Lanard's Rampage line, collectors have a lot to look forward to. Lanard strives to make product affordable for its collectors, so expect a lower price point, much like you'd get with its Corps and Kong: Skull Island action figure line.

Naturally, less expensive product often means an overall when it comes to quality, so don't expect anything special when it comes to the articulation and realistic sculpts of the figures for the human characters (none of which, at least at this point, look like Johnson's character). On the other hand, the animal characters, which is the main appeal of each of the action figure sets, look to be top-notch and should make for fun play for kids and display for collectors once the items hit store shelves. At this point, it appears that the Rampage toys will be exclusive to Walmart, much like the items for Kong: Skull Island. No release date is available yet, but with Rampage's theatrical debut a mere four months away, hopefully it will be soon.
