Rick and Morty may not be the first franchise people would think of as appropriate crossover material for Rainbow Six Siege, but it and Resident Evil will be making their way onto Team Rainbow in a future collaboration. Very little is known about the crossover beyond a few cursory details, as it has only just been revealed in a closed preview event ahead of Rainbow Six Siege's Operation Crimson Heist expansion event.

Rainbow Six Siege has had its share of crossover events in the past, but the majority of these events were with other Tom Clancy properties, such as Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell. Anything that wasn't from the Clancy lineup was usually something that made a certain degree of sense due to the nature of the game it came from: a Tomb Raider elite skin that transformed Ash into Lara Croft springs to mind. Any property that involves a first-person-shooter element would be right at home with the operators of Team Rainbow, so while the Resident Evil crossover makes a certain degree of sense, the Rick and Morty collaboration is a bit more puzzling.

Very few details of the collaborations were revealed by Ubisoft when it was teased during their closed presentation, but the few details that are certain is that Zofia will be getting an elite skin modeled after Jill Valentine's original STARS outfit from the first Resident Evil, and Ikumi Nakamura, former creative director behind Ghostwire Tokyo and The Evil Within series, designed bundles for a few of the Operators, including Hibana, Echo, Smoke, and others, according to PC Gamer. As far as Rick and Morty is concerned though, details are even more vague - the series wasn't even referred to by name. The only indication that there would be a collaboration with the famous adult cartoon was an image of a distinctively Rick and Morty portal, and a reference to an unnamed Adult Swim cartoon.

Considering the private nature of the reveal, it's not particularly surprising that details about the collaboration are sparse. Ubisoft Montreal has most likely had their hands full with the upcoming Operation Crimson Heist expansion and the start of Year 6, so everything about the collaborations are likely still in early stages. But the unusual nature of this particular crossover lies in how a collaboration between Rainbow Six Siege and Rick and Morty could possibly work, considering there's almost no common elements between the two franchises. So while the STARS elite skin for Zofia and the cosmetic bundles by Nakamura are awesome, it's that portal that really piques the most interest.

More details will likely come to light after Year 6 gets going proper, so all that's available for the duration about the collaboration is speculation and guesswork. The Resident Evil collaboration will likely end with the STARS skin, but how Rick and Morty come into play? At this point, that's anyone's guess.
