Weapons are essential equipment in Rainbow Six Extraction and will change the playstyle of every mission. Depending on the weapon type and Rainbow Six Extraction Operator, mission difficulty can drastically change for better or worse. Weapons and Loadouts will determine player strategies and movement during a mission and whether players will be able to complete all three subzones.

Rainbow Six Operators can equip one primary weapon and one secondary weapon. And depending on the Operator, weapon availability will differ. For example, the Operator ELA has up to four types of Primary Weapons she can choose from, ranging from SMGS (Sub-machine Guns) to LMGS (Light-Machine Guns). In comparison, the Pulse Operator only has three types of Primary Weapons, ranging from semi-auto shotguns and assault rifles.

While choosing which weapons players would want to unlock to use, They will have to keep in mind that certain Rainbow Six Extraction Operators will have a significantly better range of available weapons and weapon types than other Operators. Also, as players progress through the game, more Rainbow Six Operators will become available, adding additional options for weapon choices. To unlock new weapons, players will have to upgrade the Rank of each Rainbow Six Operator with that particular type of weapon available.

Unlocking New Weapons in Rainbow Six Extraction

Rainbow Six Extraction: How to Unlock Weapons

As players use and successfully complete missions with their Operators, they will gain experience points that will upgrade their individual Operators Rank. Depending on Rank levels, players will gain access to new Primary and Secondary weapons to use in missions. For example, for the DOC Operator, when DOC’s Rank reaches Level 3, he will unlock an MP5, and when he is Level 6, he will unlock a P90, and so on. So, players should prioritize experience points in Rainbow Six Extraction if they want to unlock new weapons to use.

It is recommended that players should prioritize assault rifles as a Primary Weapon as they are all-rounder weapons able to engage in close to long-range engagements and have large magazine sizes compared to other weapon classes. With Secondary Weapons, semi-auto pistols work well as alternative stealth weapons and for precision weak point shots. Players should also keep in mind that certain weapon types will not have the ability to customize attachments or change firing types.

For example, a semi-auto shotgun will not have a full-auto mode, unlike an assault rifle which has semi-auto, burst, and full-auto firing modes. Also, certain weapons will have different reload speeds and reload animations. The advantage of having a semi-auto shotgun with a manual reload is that players can have individual shells loaded without having a full mag,  giving players the ability to shoot Rainbow Six Extraction Archaeans during a reload, unlike a weapon with a mag, which forces players to drop the whole mag and reload another one before firing.
