A Quiet Place Part II offered additional evidence to approximately how many monsters crash-landed onto Earth. Since the franchise held back from exploring the origins of its creatures, or anything outside of its central setting, it is difficult to nail down a specific number of predators that have inhabited Earth in the story. Nevertheless, there were enough details hidden throughout the two films for an estimate of how many. It is a rarity that a sequel, like Part II, asked more questions than gave answers, but in the world of John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place, it worked for the two films.

The two films acknowledged three significant locations that the meteors hit, but since the story was told strictly from the family's perspective, there could have been more. In the opening scene of A Quiet Place Part II, there was one meteor that presumably dropped the three monsters from the first two films. If three monsters were roaming around the Northeastern United States, then they were more than capable of wiping out New England. In the newspaper clippings from the original, Shanghai and Mexico were also reportedly struck by meteors. Mexico's meteor landing (presumably ground zero) was perceived as a “nuclear blast," suggesting that a higher amount of monsters could have landed there.

After unraveling hidden details within the two movies, approximately fifteen to twenty monsters landed on Earth in the distinct areas mentioned. The existence of the newspapers hinted that news was still spreading days, even weeks into the attack. Another note from the clippings was that New York City was under lockdown, alluding that just 300 miles southeast, everything was seemingly alright. If three monsters could wreck the New England area populated with 14 million people, then three to five monsters dropped at each location could have done an extensive amount of damage. There was never a plan from the monsters at the beginning of the attack, and the three designated areas were simply the unlucky ones.

Even though the estimated number is relatively low, in just roughly 450 days, there was an immense amount of damage done. The monsters defeated both the National Guard and the Military with ease. It would be probable that people had given up on these infected areas or planned to invade them with proper precautions. Lee’s board referenced timestamps to Moscow and Boston, but without ties to a meteor landing, suggesting that the monsters traveled after landing, occupied more space, and slaughtered everything in their way. One of the monsters' weaknesses was water, stopping them from traveling far, but Moscow and Shanghai are on the same continent, and Boston is in New England, making it plausible.

John Krasinski stated (via Empire Podcast), that the monsters' crash-landed onto Earth. Krasinski also talked about the monsters' planet exploding, sending them flying throughout space, leading to some slamming down on Earth. His statements are critical in guessing how many monsters landed because if the monsters stumbled onto Earth by accident, with no invasion plan, then there are likely only a limited number of them. The monsters have two flaws; otherwise, they are unstoppable and extremely capable of wiping out a large majority of humans in due time, regardless of the headcount. That said, the ending of A Quiet Place Part II hinted towards a way of mass killing the remaining monsters. A Quiet Place franchise has been so smart and careful about their approach, they most likely will not over-stuff the final movie with monsters and keep the count to a minimum.
