Brian Tyree Henry in Talks to Join A Quiet Place 2 in Mystery Role

The cast of A Quiet Place 2 is growing, as Brian Tyree Henry is reportedly in talks to star. One of the biggest movie surprises of last year for a variety of reasons was Paramount's A Quiet Place. It was a low-budget horror film directed by and starring John Krasinski, still best known as Jim from The Office, and featured minimal dialogue thanks to its simple premise. The buzz for the movie really began after the first reactions from festivals landed online and continued until the film's theatrical release. The movie opened to over $50 million domestically, and went on to gross over $340M worldwide.

The massive success that it experienced immediately resulted in talks of a sequel, but it also made doing a true followup a bit more complicated. A Quiet Place put Krasinski on the map as a director, and he was courted for a variety of projects. This happened at the same time he developed ideas for A Quiet Place 2 and confirmed earlier this year that he would return to write and direct. His in-movie and real-life wife Emily Blunt is set to star once again, along with the two kids Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe, but they won't be alone.

According to a new report from The Wrap, Brian Tyree Henry is now in talks to star in A Quiet Place 2. There are no details on who Henry could be playing. If this deal closes, A Quiet Place 2 will be the latest project for the Atlanta star to join. Last year alone he appeared in WidowsIf Beale Street Could Talk, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and more. He's set to have a busy 2019 too with roles in Child's PlayJoker, and a few other movies, with an appearance in Godzilla vs. Kong looming in 2020.

Henry is the second new cast member to join the silent world of A Quiet Place 2, as Cillian Murphy was previously reported to be in talks as well. Even though the lack of plot details on the sequel makes it difficult to place both of the talented additions, the prospect of them both interacting with the Abbott family is an exciting one. Based on the tease from the first film that other families are living in silence around the Abbotts, Henry and Murphy could both be neighbors the Abbotts try to help.

With filming on A Quiet Place 2 set to begin this summer, it hopefully won't be that long before more details on the movie are released. After all, it isn't even confirmed if A Quiet Place 2 is the actual title or if Paramount will tack on a subtitle instead. The good news, though, is that the sequel is coming out in less than a year, so it may not be too long before marketing begins. In any case, more information and possible casting could be on the way for A Quiet Place 2 shortly.
