Liam Neeson reveals what Force ghost Qui-Gon Jinn would tell Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor). Both Neeson and McGregor made their debut in the Star Wars universe in the first prequel film, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Neeson played Qui-Gon Jinn, a Jedi master who was teaching young Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi the ways of the Force.

Of course, everyone knows now that Qui-Gon met an untimely end at the hands of the evil Sith Lord Darth Maul at the end of The Phantom Menace. There were a lot of aspects of the prequel films fans and critics alike disliked, particularly in The Phantom Menace, but Neeson's portrayal of Qui-Gon remains appreciated to this day. Therefore, it was no surprise that rumors started swirling that Qui-Gon could feasibly appear as a Force Ghost in the highly anticipated Disney Plus limited series, Obi-Wan KenobiSadly, this fun fan theory was shot down by Neeson himself, who confirmed that Qui-Gon would not be returning.

Nevertheless, Neeson still got a fun kick out of an interview question on the Jake's Takes YouTube channel. Interviewer Jake Hamilton asked Neeson what Qui-Gon would say to his former Padawan Obi-Wan as a Force ghost. Check out Neeson's hilarious answer below.

"Keep on trucking Obi-Wan! Keep on trucking baby, and may the Force be with you always."

Attempting to imagine the stoic Qui-Gon Jinn saying Neeson's words makes his advice even more entertaining. It's unfortunate that Qui-Gon Jinn won't be returning as a Force ghost in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, because Obi-Wan is definitely going to need all the help he can get in his highly anticipated rematch with Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen). In many ways, Qui-Gon's premature death set the events that led to Anakin's fall to the Dark side in motion, with many fans believing Qui-Gon was the father figure Anakin so desperately needed.

There are a lot of palpable reasons why Qui-Gon could plausibly return to the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Not to mention, Neeson still has Qui-Gon Jinn's lightsaber. Neeson did return as the voice of Qui-Gon in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and The Rise of Skywalker (a title he hilariously forgot in the Jake's Takes interview). If anything, fans would certainly be pleased just to hear Qui-Gon's voice again in any capacity, ideally passing on wiser words to Obi-Wan than what Neeson himself had to offer.

Qui-Gon's time in the Star Wars films may have ended with Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, but the emotional and physical chasm his death left literally impacted the entire galaxy. Neeson did a fantastic job of playing a wise Jedi master who didn't want to give up on young Anakin Skywalker, and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Whether or not Qui-Gon Jinn ever returns in some way to Star Wars, the fact is the Force will always be strong with Neeson.
