Prolific director Quentin Tarantino won't even think about directing his final film for quite some time. With only nine films under his belt, Tarantino has made quite the impact on Hollywood. While he has dabbled in acting from time to time, including cameoing in a lot of his own films, Tarantino is most known for writing and directing films. First breaking onto the scene with Reservoirs Dogs in 1992, Tarantino went on to write True Romance, directed by Tony Scott, in 1993. The following year, Tarantino wrote and directed what many consider to be his magnum opus - Pulp Fiction.

Since then, Tarantino's stylized vision and mixture of acerbic dialogue and violent mayhem has attracted a legion of loyal fans. Both Kill Bill, Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 saw the director use his vast knowledge of cinema to make a martial arts thriller starring Uma Thurman as The Bride. More recently, Tarantino has employed western influences for films like Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight before writing and directing his love letter to the industry with Once Upon a Time...In Hollywood. Tarantino has been outspoken about how his tenth film will be his last, leading to much speculation about what project he will take on for his grand finale.

It sounds like that speculation will continue for quite some time. Tarantino told The Big Picture podcast that he doesn't plan on thinking about his final film for a while. After wrapping up his Once Upon a Time...In Hollywood book, Tarantino will write a non-fiction work about movies from the 1970s, titled Cinema Speculation. The director will also mount a stage production of his most recent movie. All of this means that Tarantino is too busy to even think about his last movie.

I mean, we’ll see what happens, but my plan is to do this book, I just did this, then finish the cinema book, then the next thing on the list is to start thinking about the play…I’m not going to think about [my] last movie for a while. I’m doing other things right now.

Tarantino has floated many potential ideas for his last film. Many think that he could make the long-awaited final Kill Bill movie as the original films perfectly set up a sequel. There was also the R-rated Star Trek film that Tarantino was rumored to be directing, but that was confirmed to not be happening. Rumors also floated about a number of other projects that Tarantino could potentially make for his last movie, including a long-speculated adaptation of Brett Easton Ellis novel Less Than Zero.

More recently, Tarantino mentioned that he considered remaking Reservoir Dogs, his very first film. If anything, the director seems indecisive about what movie to make for his final project, partly because the pressure continues to build surrounding the highly anticipated film. Luckily, Tarantino is giving himself plenty of time to decide just which film to make, ensuring that a lot of thought will go into the decision.
