Queer Eye is going international for a new special season. In a recently released trailer, the Fab 5 move from their usual Southern locations to a new destination: Tokyo, Japan. While the far-away environment will certainly be a change from prior seasons, viewers can expect just as many tears and beautiful moments, if the trailer is any indication.

Queer Eye first premiered in 2018. The Netflix series mimicked the formula of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, a popular show that premiered in the early 2000s. Since its premiere, the series has taken off, garnering massive popularity at home in the US and abroad. In less than two years since the first release, Queer Eye has released four separate seasons featuring Antoni Porowski, Jonathan Van Ness, Bobby Berk, Karamo Brown, and Tan France. Each member of the well-known Fab 5 brings something different to the table, allowing them to transform lives across the country by helping people to reinvent themselves, both inside and outside. Now, the reality TV dream team is hopping on a plane and taking their talents across the world.

In the trailer for the new special season, the Fab 5 travel to Tokyo to bring some of their magic to the city's Japanese residents. They're happily welcomed by Kiko Mizuhara, their Tokyo tour guide. While strolling through the city and getting a taste of the local culture are definitely on the agenda, the Fab 5 also have work to do. In typical Queer Eye fashion, the Fab 5 meet with various local contestants who need a little push to reach their full potential. Of course, it wouldn't be a true Queer Eye trailer without a few tearful moments. Even though they're across the world, the Fab 5 still have plenty of loving advice and encouragement to offer. As the trailer says, "Try not to cry."

Queer Eye's new season launches on Netflix on November 1. The announcement comes on the heels of Jonathan Van Ness' new book, Over the Top, which details his struggle with drug addiction, sexual abuse, and his HIV positive diagnosis. The other members of the Fab 5 have been incredibly supportive of Van Ness' brutally honest work, clearly expressing that they love him and are proud of his accomplishments.

The Fab 5 have brought plenty of joy to American audiences. Although the new season takes them across the globe, their lovable personalities are sure to make viewers feel at home, no matter the location. An international destination allows the Fab 5 to step away from their usual routine, a fact that's sure to bring a new sense of excitement and fun to the upcoming season.
