What can you expect from Queer Eye season 4? Netflix's reality series is a major hit; shortly after its premiere in 2018, this generation's Fab Five took the streaming platform by storm, quickly becoming household names and impeccably dressed life coaches.

Based on the original Bravo series Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, this reboot replaces the original Fab Five with a brand new crew of experts: Kamaro (culture and lifestyle), Bobby (design), Tan (fashion), Antoni (food), and Jonathan (hair). The first season became a massive hit on Netflix (which was clear enough through exposure alone, since Netflix doesn't reveal its viewing stats). Now, after its first two seasons were released only months apart in the same year, season 3 finally released in March 2019 with plenty more "heroes" to whom the Fab Five can dish out some invaluable assistance. And, of course, fans, can expect the self-help series to continue.

The Fab Five will seek out individuals in need (the series originally only focused on straight men, but has since included a woman, gay man, and transgender man, and includes even more diversity in the latest season). In Queer Eye season 4, however, having already set up shop in Georgia and Missouri, it's entirely possible they'll be trekking to new territory.

Queer Eye Has Four Japan Specials Coming To Netflix In 2019

Netflix Queer Eye

As if a whole season wasn't enough, Netflix is also releasing a four-episode Queer Eye special set in Japan. Aptly titled Queer Eye: We're in Japan!, the episodes will air at some point in 2019, though no official date has been revealed. Expected to include the same format as other episodes, the Fab Five will also "learn and experience Japanese cuisine, fashion, design, grooming and culture firsthand" from locals, and it'll serve as a bridge between Queer Eye seasons 3 and 4.

Queer Eye Season 4 Hasn't Been Renewed By Netflix (Yet)

Queer Eye cast

Beyond the Japan episodes, Netflix has yet to officially announce a Queer Eye season 4 yet. The streaming service normally announces its future plans a month or two after new episodes drop, meaning we can expect some official word on Queer Eye season 4 by May 2019. Given the show's popularity, renewal is likely.

Queer Eye Season 4 Release Date Info

Queer Eye Season 3

Assuming it's given a greenlight, it's still unclear what Queer Eye season 4's release date would be. Previous seasons of the show were rolled out fairly quickly - even including a special mini episode set in Yass, Australia released in 2018 as well - but season 3 marked the longest gap yet. So, Queer Eye season 4 could release as soon as this year or as late as early 2020, based on how Netflix handled previous seasons.

Queer Eye Season 4: How to Nominate Heroes

Queer Eye casting call

No matter the season, Queer Eye sticks to the same formula with each episode. The Fab Five surprises someone who's been nominated by a loved one and helps them essentially restructure their life. They help with their confidence, their culinary skills, their fashion and hair, and the cherry on top is a major home makeover. To get the ball rolling, Netflix invites people to nominate individuals for "the makeover of a lifetime" by way of social media posts and billboards in and around the areas in which they're filming. That said, the show's casting director Gretchen Palek told Vanity Fair"We definitely accept applications and nominations, but we also know that sometimes the best stories may not submit themselves."

As of now, there are no concrete moves to cast for Queer Eye season 4 - let alone any information regarding where next season will take place - so, anyone interested in being involved need only await casting announcements.
