Netflix has renewed its Emmy Award-winning series Queer Eye for seasons 4 and 5, and has revealed when season 4 of the hit show will premiere. A reboot of the Bravo show Queer Eye for the Straight Guy that originally aired between 2003 and 2007, Queer Eye pairs "stylistically challenged" people with its team of makeover experts: Antoni Porowski (food and wine), Bobby Berk (interior design), Jonathan Van Ness (grooming), Karamo Brown (culture) and Tan France (fashion). Also known as the Fab Five, the guys give people featured on the show - affectionately referred to as ‘heroes’ - full life makeovers and a much-needed confidence boost.

Netflix premiered season 1 of Queer Eye in early 2018 to critical acclaim and the feel-good show was swiftly renewed for a second season. While the first two seasons of the show were filmed in and around Atlanta, Georgia season 3 of Queer Eye focused on helping the stylistically challenged of Kansas City. Since then the Fab Five have also filmed a four-episode special Queer Eye: We’re in Japan!, which is set to air sometime this year and recently turned their attention to our four-legged friends when they gave a shelter puppy a ridiculously cute makeover.

Now fans can expect even more heart-warming makeovers after Netflix announced it has picked up Queer Eye for a fourth season that will launch globally on July 19. Season 4 will see the Fab Five return once more to Kansas City and help eight new heroes with their “infectious brand of self-love, confidence and encouragement.” Netflix also confirmed that it has officially ordered a fifth season of the show in which the Fab Five will head to Philadelphia. Season 5 of Queer Eye is set to start production on June 24 and will debut sometime in 2020.

The show is executive produced by Michael Williams, Rob Eric and David Collins for Scout Productions, which created the original Bravo broadcast series. Jennifer Lane serves as executive producer and showrunner while Adam Sher, Jordana Hochman, David Eilenberg and David George executive produce for ITV Entertainment.

Since its 2018 debut, Queer Eye has won three Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Structured Reality Program, Outstanding Casting for a Reality Program and Outstanding Picture Editing for a Structured or Competition Reality Program. The show was also nominated for four People’s Choice Awards and just this year won the award for Outstanding Reality Program at the 2019 GLAAD Media Awards. Now, fans of the award-winning reality show will have plenty more Queer Eye to look forward to in the coming year.
