Is Queer Eye's Jonathan Van Ness in a relationship, and if so who is his partner? Arguably the star of the show, Van Ness is a whole bundle of gorgeousness wrapped up with a perfectly-trimmed moustache. The 33-year-old describes himself during Queer Eye season 5 as "a non-binary fairy parent". Jonathan has addressed his gender identity on the Netflix show but fans want to know whether the grooming connoisseur has a partner or not.
The Fab Five's positivity is infectious, so it's hard to imagine that they'd have any difficulty in finding partners. While Bobby Berk, Karamo Brown and Tan France are shacked up, it seems that Jonathan is currently single. He was publicly in a relationship with Wilco Froneman for around six months in 2018. According to E! Online, the pair met in early July but split at the end of December. Jonathan took to Instagram following the split quoting Ariana Grande song, 'thank u, next'.
Just when everyone thought Jonathan was single, his relationship status was thrown into question during 2019. Thanks to Jonathan and fellow Queer Eye star Antoni Porowski, fans were convinced that they were romantically involved. Together they run a spoof Instagram account, @Jvntoni, which features tonnes of images of the pair looking like a loved-up couple. From Jonathan sitting on Antoni's lap to smooches caught on camera and bathroom teeth-brushing-in-tandem pics, the Jvntoni account is pretty convincing. Plus, Queer Eye fans would most likely be overjoyed to see an on-screen romance between Jonathan and Antoni. Wishful thinking combined with the photos of them looking cosy together only equaled one thing. To intensify the situation more, as reported by OK! Magazine, Karamo pitched in and said that Antoni and Jonathan were "officially a couple and in love" on IG. But, on July 31st 2019, Jonathan Tweeted that this wasn't really the case, "Also for clarification, @antoni & I are a couple.... of very close friends who run a satirical couple account and may fall in love someday, but that day is not necessarily today. Love yew hauxs."
As Jonathan confirmed, he is 100% not in a romantic relationship with Antoni and is most probably enjoying the single life. The Netflix star came out as non-binary and HIV-Positive in 2019 and between being the go-to guy for all-things grooming on Queer Eye, looking after his cats, ice skating, writing books and perfecting his gymnastics skills, Jonathan appears to be very busy - perhaps even too busy for a relationship.
Jonathan said to Tyreek Wanamaker during Queer Eye season 5 episode 4, "You have five, well, four gay godfathers and me, you know, just a non-binary fairy parent who is always there for you should you need skincare, should you have questions." It's safe to say that Jonathan, who sometimes transforms into his alter-ego, Blanche, without warning, is there for those who need it. As well as being a voice for the LGBTQ+ and HIV-Positive community, Jonathan manages to bring his über-positive vibe, self-care tips and hilarious comments to all communities across the world via Netflix.
