After a long day isolated at the Hackett's Quarry summer camp, the counselors rest around a campfire. They conduct a game of Truth or Dare that swiftly goes south, resulting in Abigail running off into the woods. Nick decides to follow her and the two are ambushed by a lycanthropic monster. Unfortunately, Nick is bitten and becomes the first playable character to get infected in The Quarry. Abigail manages to escape and requests help from her friends. Ryan, another camp counselor, takes a gun and goes to rescue Nick, bringing players to the desired achievement.
The Quarry: How To Earn The Nick Of Time Achievement
While running through the dark woods, players will need to make fast decisions and resolve plenty of Quick Time Events (QTEs). Before he gets to Nick, Ryan will hit multiple crossroads and have to decide whether to take the shorter or safer path. The Nick of Time achievement requires that players always choose TAKE SHORTCUT over FOLLOW PATH. The following QTEs will be much faster than before. Players will need to press Up twice on their keyboard or controller, Left once, and then mash the A button on the first path. The second shortcut has a QTE Up, Left, Left, Up, and finally Right. This achievement is easy to fail, but PC players can create a backup save of The Quarry, by copying files into another folder. This allows for multiple attempts to reach Nick quickly and earn Nick of Time.
The Quarry has a total of 186 different endings, changing with every decision made. Some choices are more important than others, but each one impacts the story in varying degrees. The game also features 40 achievements, and multiple playthroughs are needed to earn them all. Players should try their best to discover every possible outcome in The Quarry.
