Marvel Television has been slowly expanding ever since Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premiered on ABC back in 2013, with more and more ambitious projects coming and going in the meantime. However, none of the studio's TV projects have garnered quite as much recognition or critical acclaim (so far) than their Netflix, street-level shows. Starting with Daredevil and Jessica Jones in 2015, the Hell's Kitchen side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been getting more and more crowded with Daredevil season 2 and Luke Cage last year, all leading up to Iron Fist in March and the long-awaited team-up miniseries event, The Defenders, this summer.

Presumably after Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist assemble later this year, though, Marvel and Netflix are going to be releasing The Punisher, the new spinoff TV series focusing on Jon Bernthal's vengeful Frank Castle, following his debut in Daredevil's second season last year.

Production on The Punisher series has been ongoing in New York for several months now as well, and today, two new set photos from the series have been posted online by Kültürpat. Those photos (see below) feature Bernthal's Castle seemingly in the midst of delivering some flowers to an unknown recipient. Check them out for yourself below:

When Bernthal made his debut as The Punisher in Dardevil, the actor was met with worldwide praise from both fans and critics alike for his performance and dedication to the role, embodying the beloved comic book character in a way that no other actor had onscreen before. For the millions of fans out there who had spent years sitting through disappointing or forgettable Punisher live-action films too, Bernthal's take on the character came as sweet relief. Considering just how quickly he grew in popularity, it didn't come as much of a surprise either when the studio and streaming service officially announced the character's spin-off series.

There's no word on whether or not Bernthal may pop up in The Defenders as of yet, but there will still be some familiar faces set to appear in his standalone series; including Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page, who Frank developed a close relationship with throughout Dardevil's sophomore season. Aside from just those two returning actors, though, the series boasts an impressive cast of other actors for itself, including Westworld's Ben Barnes as a villainous mob boss, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Microchip, and more. Coming from Hannibal writer Steve Lightfoot, The Punisher promises to be the kind of dark, violent series that only a character like Frank Castle could be deserving of - and the TV series that some fans have been waiting their entire lives for.

Daredevil seasons 1 & 2, Jessica Jones season 1, and Luke Cage season 1 are available now on Netflix. Iron Fist season 1 arrives on March 17, 2017. The Defenders and The Punisher debut at some point in 2017. Premiere dates for the newest seasons of Jessica Jones, Daredevil, and Luke Cage have not yet been announced.
