The mega-popular PUBG Mobile recently hit another major milestone, managing to reach a staggering one billion global downloads worldwide. PUBG Mobile went live in early 2018 just a couple of months after PUBG's full release. A free-to-play experience for Android and iOS, the battle royale's mobile iteration provides a pretty faithful recreation of the 100-player action on display in the PC and console versions. It's been nothing short of an incredible success, too. In 2020, for example, PUBG Mobile counted among five mobile titles to surpass $1 billion in earnings.

Over the weekend, PUBG Corp. announced that PUBG Mobile had reached yet another big milestone by recently crossing one billion downloads worldwide. Krafton, a PUBG Corp. subsidiary, released a video from CEO C.H. Kim, who delivered a "thank you" message to fans for their unending passion and support over the past three years.

One billion downloads is undoubtedly a remarkable feat, especially for an endeavor that just celebrated its third year on the market. Much likes its PC and console counterpart, PUBG Mobile continues to evolve with updates that introduce fixes, balancing-related tweaks, and new content. PUBG proper just received on such patch with the rollout of Update 1.11 on PC Test Servers. Most notably, 1.11 brings Metal Gear Solid V-style Fulton Balloons to the battle royale adventure, something that's sure to considerably mix up the moment-to-moment gameplay.
