A PUBG player managed to get his kill count up while spinning around in a chair and holding a baby with one hand. One of the most popular multiplayer titles in the world, PUBG has become the site of many impressive skill plays, though its ubiquity has flagged somewhat thanks to the influx of quality battle royale games available.

Just recently, PUBG went through another major update with additional content aimed at introducing a breath of fresh air to the title. The most notable change is the reworked Vikendi map, which is back in PUBG after a few months of absence. The snowy landscapes of Vikendi have been enhanced and polished with several areas being completely redesigned from scratch. The most dramatic reimagining has hit the popular Dino Park, which is now several times bigger and has been upgraded to Dinoland. Season 7 also introduced other design changes to Vikendi with several less impactful additions, like the new Mosin-Nagant sniper rifle, which literally inherits all the specs of the Kar98k.

The Kar98k is also the weapon of choice for masterful gamer dad Nitesen, who shared his impressive PUBG highlight with the community of Reddit to an overwhelmingly positive response. In the footage, the player is seen camping in a three-story building, which can be found almost everywhere on the Erangel map. Nitesen has set a simple trap, putting two gas cans next to each other at the top of a staircase in the hope that someone will eventually try looting the building. That’s exactly what happens in the video, with an unsuspecting enemy player entering the room only to get blown up by a gas can explosion and become the second kill for Nitesen. While this camping method is not something entirely new for PUBG, it’s the execution that is both brilliant and innovative.

While waiting for an opponent to show up, Nitesen was spinning around in a chair holding a wireless mouse with one hand and his baby-daughter with the other hand. Kar98k’s sight had been targeted at one of the gas cans beforehand, and all Nitesen needed to do was to hit the left mouse button to cause an explosion with a single shot, which he did. Nitesen has shared that he taught his daughter to view the blood splatters as bursts of jelly implying that the enemies are full of jam, a delicious solution to an otherwise tricky setting to explain to a child.

It is always pleasant to see inventive plays like this one, but it's also a reminder that camping remains a major part of the gameplay experience, which has long been a frustrating issue in PUBG. As a slow-paced and deeply tactical battle royale, the gam encourages cautious plays, but this concept can sometimes lead to painfully lethargic matches - the kind that makes for less flashy viewing than, say, Fortnite. Hopefully, Nitesen’s efficient performance with just a single hand involved won’t inspire multiple imitators - or, if it does, they start showing off more active versions of the method in the future.
