Marlowe is Carlton's wife. This character was first introduced as one of the criminals in a case on which Lassie and the team were working.

It turns out that Marlowe's brother has a rare condition in which he needs frequent blood transfusions and Marlowe had been helping him to steal blood from others. She values his input but is also clear about her expectations and tries to keep Shawn from crossing the line. Karen is also strategic and is able to influence those around her while earning their respect at the same time.
