It has been announced that PlayStation 5 bundles will be available at GameStop today, January 21. The elusive current-generation console remains difficult to acquire, due in part to production delays and bots that quickly scoop them up online. PS5 restock announcements have become commonplace, giving users some notice as stock continues to quickly sell out, often within a matter of minutes of listings going live.

Console bundles are becoming more commonplace when the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S do become available, no matter the retailer, with many aiming to purchase just a console having to purchase a bundle instead. Bundles typically contain a game or two, but can also include additional controllers, and even online subscriptions to services like PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass. Previous PS5 bundles spotted on the shelves have included PS5-exclusive games like Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, as well as Sony exclusives like Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. PS5 bundles with exclusive games make sense, with those acquiring the console likely looking to try out games that can't be played elsewhere.

GameStop has announced via a press release that PS5 bundles will be made available at 10 am CT on January 21, 2022. GameStop says that quantities are limited and that GameStop PowerUp Rewards Pro Members will have early access to the bundles. The bundles will include a PlayStation 5 console, Call of Duty: Vanguard, a red PS5 DualSense controller, a gift card, and twelve months of PS Plus.

GameStop PS5 Bundle Stock Announcement Jan 22

Just last month, GameStop announced an in-store restock of the PS5, made available December 30, giving hopeful fans a last shot at acquiring the console in 2021. GameStop's December PlayStation 5 consoles were also sold in bundles, including additional accessories and games, making the price markedly higher than if the console was sold alone. Customers that wished to purchase one of the console bundles had to purchase a yearly subscription to GameStop's Pro members service, something that has become increasingly common due to the scarcity of the consoles.

Those who are unable to grab one of GameStop's PlayStation 5 bundles can still hope for more chances of obtaining a PS5 in the future. The tides may be turning in terms of the instantly-selling-out consoles, as evidenced in the UK, where recently both the Xbox Series X and PS5 remained in stock for 24 hours, as opposed to just a few moments. As 2022 continues, purchasing a PS5 may prove a little easier, though it's not clear when exactly consoles will be readily available.
