There has been yet another rumor surrounding the PlayStation 5’s price and release date, and it looks pretty legitimate. Exactly when Sony's newest console will arrive - as well as how much it will set back players - has yet to be confirmed by Sony, but that hasn't stopped unverified leaks from making the rounds online in the months since it was first shown off to the public back in June.

So far, all that’s been officially revealed is that the PS5 will reach stores sometime in the 2020 holiday season, something that Sony has reassured its investors is still set despite complications from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. As for the price, both Amazon UK and Hong Kong-based online retailer Play-Asia have previously listed the PS5 as costing roughly $699, though both sites have since removed this from their PS5 pre-order pages. Now, it seems that the ever-elusive release date and price point for the PlayStation 5 have surfaced once again, with the latter thankfully being much lower than previously reported.

According to Game Rant, Chinese game industry news site MyDrivers recently put out a listing for both versions of the PlayStation 5 console, in addition to several PS5 accessories and the highly-anticipated launch title Spider-Man: Miles Morales. If this report is correct, then both the Standard and Digital Editions of the PS5 will be released on November 20, with the former costing $499 and the latter $399. Of course, none of this has been officially confirmed yet, but the information does line up with previous analyst predictions.

With the winter season fast approaching, both Sony and Microsoft have been ramping up efforts to promote their next-generation consoles. Sony released the first PlayStation 5 advertisement online last week, and Microsoft has in turn unveiled the Xbox Series X dashboard as part of their recent New Xbox Experience trailer. This comes in addition to both companies putting an increased focus on the games that will be available on their consoles, thanks to such showcases as tomorrow's Gamescom Opening Night 2020.

It has also been confirmed that the Xbox Series X will also ship in November (with the exact day still unknown), so it would make sense for Sony to try and stay ahead of their competition by locking in a more concrete date around the same time. The rumored November 14 is also before the annual Black Friday shopping holiday, adding credence to the leak. Still, fans should wait until a more official confirmation of when the PlayStation 5 will finally hit store shelves, as well as how much it will cost when it does.
