Almost everyone whose hands have gotten the opportunity to play with the high-tech PlayStation 5 DualSense controller has fallen in love with it, but one of Far Cry 6's key developers has finally shared the gamepad's most annoying detail (and it's impossible to unsee). PS5 hardware imperfections aren't entirely unexpected considering the harrowing development and production of the new console under COVID-19 conditions, but visible inconsistencies stand out as particularly jarring because of how much focus Sony put into its sleek and sterile design.

Chief among the highlights of the PS5 is the DualSense controller, and for good reason. The controllers are designed to fully immerse players into whatever game they happen to be playing, with its haptic feedback capabilities allowing players to feel the hammer release while firing an in-game revolver or the previously pure visual weight of a platforming character's leaps and landings. While developers and players have sung the new gamepad's praises, someone out there has at last spotted a small but noticeable issue with the DualSense's design. As a warning to PS5 owners with an eye for perfection, this one's impossible to forget once it's been spotted.

The game design director of Far Cry 6, Ted Timmins, has revealed his thoughts about the new DualSense controller in a tweet that will be anal retentive players' worst nightmare. He took to Twitter to show that the Sony logo on the back of his DualSense controller is off-center by approximately a millimeter and slanted by a single degree. The horror. He admits that "it bothers [him] way more than it should," but he's not the only perfectionist who now shares his burden of cursed knowledge. Although Timmins suggests this logo mishap could be specific to his DualSense controller, others quickly posted responses that seem to vindicate his point, causing even more players to notice the error on their gamepads, too.

There will be plenty who can easily overlook this perceived imperfection and continue enjoying the controller, there will be those who disagree with Timmins (as several comments seem to indicate) and there will be others who, like Timmins, cannot seem to get over the apparent blemish. As one irritated PS5 owner puts it, "Now I will never see otherwise, this is your fault Ted." Others have said the Sony branding looks tilted only because of the letter Y, which creates an optical illusion. Timmins has said in a subsequent tweet that despite highlighting the off-center logo, he is seriously impressed with the DualSense controller so far and is excited for players to use the controller to play Far Cry 6 when it releases next year.

Upon its release, the DualSense has excited fans who are eager to try the new feature that emphasizes adaptive triggers and responds to in-game moments. As is the case with any new technology, there have been some other issues affecting the playability of the DualSense, including a charging problem that many players have reported experiencing. As the weeks pass by and more players have the chance to get their hands on the PS5 and DualSense controller, everyone can hope that Timmins and his present company has discovered the last known issue.
