After getting delayed due to BLM protests, Sony's PS5 reveal event set the ball rolling for the console's launch. While the DualSense controller was revealed earlier, Sony announced two variants of the PS5 - a digital one and another one with 4K Blu-ray support during the event. The console's design was widely acclaimed by the community for being way ahead of its generation, while some expressed their disapproval about the absence of a black variant. Sony also revealed a number of accessories alongside the console to cater to the needs of different players. The PS5 accessories include a wide array of options such as the PULSE 3D Wireless Headset, the PS5 Media Remote, the PS5 HD Camera, and the DualSense charging stand.
Amazon Germany has listed the console and all the accessories that Sony announced during the event (as discovered on Reddit). Unlike previous listings on Amazon, this one doesn't state the price, but it does give insight into what to expect from the various accessories - something Sony hasn't delved much into during or after the reveal event. According to the description, the PULSE 3D Wireless Headset will have a USB Type-C port and two microphones for proper noise reduction. The headset will be optimized to deliver 3D audio on PS5 consoles, however, the 3D audio feature will only be available if the game supports it.
Sony didn't mention details about PSVR in the reveal event - however, it was eventually confirmed that the PS5 will support the current-generation model. While the description states that the PS5 HD Camera will allow players to add face-cam to broadcasts and gameplay recordings, it will likely have some more extra features which aren't available on the current-generation PS4 camera. Whether those features will be compatible with the existing PSVR or the rumored next-gen PSVR remains to be seen.
Sony has left little unaccounted for in offering a comprehensive set of accessories for the PS5, but pricing will still play a crucial role in the console's success. Analysts have suggested that the console will likely be priced under $500, but leaked listings after those predictions have hinted that the price may go as high as $700. The PS3's price at launch was pretty high, and it did hurt the sales of the console to a significant extent. The ongoing pandemic has lowered the buying capacity of the average consumer, so it is expected that Sony wouldn't repeat the mistakes it committed during the PS3 era.
