A bunch of new box art has been revealed for upcoming PlayStation 5 games by online retailers, with the likes of Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Far Cry 6 included. Sony has previously unveiled what the box art will look like on the next-generation console, but this is the first time that fans have been able to see a greater range of what physical titles on the PS5 will like.

Although details about the next-gen consoles are still surprisingly sparse, with no exact release dates yet revealed for either the PS5 or Xbox Series X, box art has been one of the few things that players have seen. Both Microsoft and Sony showed off what game covers would look like months ago. In comparison to the new design for the PS5, the Xbox Series X split fans, with players upset that a huge ugly logo was overlayed to let customers know the game had been optimized for the new console. Thankfully, Microsoft has since decided to get rid of the logo after the fan outcry.

A collection of upcoming PS5 games are now available for pre-order from online retailers, with the product pages revealing what the box art for the titles will be. Australian retailer JB Hi-Fi has a number of games up, including the likes of Far Cry 6, Overcooked: All You Can Eat, and Watch Dogs: Legion. Meanwhile, Amazon has box artwork for high-profile games such as Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Like the previously unveiled box arts, the only real difference when compared with PS4 covers is that the border at the top has switched from blue to white. Other than that, the box art for these latest games looks identical on both platforms.

Unlike box art for next-gen consoles, the pricing of games for the PS5 and Xbox Series X has been far more controversial. A number of publishers, such as 2K Games, have already revealed that they will be hiking the price of next-gen versions of games. However, the likes of Ubisoft and Capcom posted updates saying there was no plan for an increase in the immediate future. The publishers will instead wait to see how gamers react to the price increases and analyze trends within the industry.

Although it is nice to see what covers for games will look like on next-generation consoles, players would almost certainly prefer to have more concrete information about the release date and prices of the PS5 and Xbox Series X. Box art is just not as exciting, especially in what is an increasingly digital world where players don't even buy as many physical releases anymore.
