Gamers who pre-ordered PlayStation 5 accessories have been getting official notification from Sony that the company is moving up the shipping date for things like the new DualSense controllers and its sharp-looking charging stations to the end of this month. The launch date for the console itself has not been changed, however, so the PlayStation 5 should still arrive at its scheduled time, about two weeks later.

Sony announced the November 12 launch date for its next-generation console during its September showcase. It was not the first time the company had shown off the box itself, but fans did finally get solid price details and many walked away excited to secure an order for both the PlayStation 5 and its many associated accessories. Of these, the DualSense controller, with its lauded Haptic Feedback, was a must-order. Pre-orders unexpectedly went live later that day, which resulted in a chaotic and frustrating experience in which stock for consoles and accessories went quickly.

Those lucky enough to secure pre-orders with Sony now seem to be receiving notice that PlayStation 5 accessories will be shipping out on October 30, according to a Twitter post by Wario64 which retweeted one costumer’s screenshot of Sony’s correspondence. Sony excitedly shares with its customers that the accessory portion of their orders were being sent out earlier than expected. Though the screenshot references the PS5 Digital in its "details" section, others in the comments clarify that this message only concerns accessories. Wario64 also claims that Sony may be making pre-ordered accessories available early to various stores, like Target, perhaps indicating that a large portion of people that managed to reserve PS5 accessories ahead of the launch could expect the same early delivery.

The release date for the PlayStation 5 is now only weeks away, but Sony still seems to have much more to reveal about the console. For example, the company surprised many today by dropping a video out of the blue which examined some of the PS5’s UI. Though Sony has allowed a small group to handle the box itself, most of the early, hands-on previews of the PS5 have been restricted to influencers in Japan so far.

This is an exciting time for gamers with the next generation of consoles just around the corner and the news that PlayStation 5 accessories might be coming early to players able to snag pre-orders only adds to that excitement. It seems likely that before the consoles arrive, Sony will have more to share about what customers are getting in November.
