UPDATE 6/30/21: PlayStation has revealed the official July 2021 PS Plus games as Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, WWE 2K Battlegrounds, and A Plague Tale: Innocence, confirming only one of the titles from the alleged leak. The original story follows.

The PlayStation Plus (PS Plus) games for July 2021 have not been officially announced by Sony, but possible game titles have leaked online: Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, WRC 9 and A Plague Tale: Innocence. This is not the first time the PS Plus free games have leaked this year, and it likely won't be the last.

The PS Plus games for June 2021 included Star Wars: Squadrons, Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown, and Operation: Tango. The first two games are available for PS4, but Operation: Tango is only available for PS5. Currently, players can add the PlayStation 5 PS Plus titles to their library if they have the subscription service, they just won't be able to play it until they have a PS5 console. However, with PS5 consoles almost impossible to purchase from retailers given a shortage, Sony has teased new changes for PS Plus.

The leak for A Plague Tale: Innocence came out earlier in June, but the leaks for WRC 9 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy were posted on Reddit (via Forbes) after the original sites where they were listed took them down. Because this Uncharted game is the only one in the franchise that has not yet been available on PS Plus, this lineup is not out of the question. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is a stand-alone adventure game that takes place in the same world as the Uncharted series, but it's the first game to not feature the series' well-known protagonist Nathan Drake.

A Plague Tale: Innocence is an action-adventure and survival stealth game telling the story of Amicia and her brother as they struggle to survive the plague of 1349 France. This single-player game shows a time period and event not usually seen in video games and is worth the playthrough. The original leaker for A Plague Tale: Innocence stated that it was receiving a remaster and would be a July PS Plus game. At E3 2021, it was announced that the game would in fact receive a remaster for the new-gen consoles. This at least suggests that the other half of the leak is true as well. WRC 9 is a racing game that was released last year and it features rallies in Kenya, Japan, and New Zealand. This would round out the three games, the same as the amount PS Plus had available in June.

Although the leak was dubbed fake on Reddit, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and A Plague Tale: Innocence specifically seem like great guesses – and they'd make for welcomed additions. Though Uncharted is loved by millions, some may not have played the last installment. PlayStation Plus has quickly become a great way for gamers to experience titles they haven't played, and these are three ideal options. Here's hoping the rumor is true.
