Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott’s romance only became public a few months ago, but fans have been closely monitoring every move from this hot new couple. They have had some major pair milestones in their first few months together; everything from attending family weddings together to sibling singing battles. This former New Girl Star and the Property Brothers star are on the fast track to becoming a Hollywood power couple.
A source close to the pair reported that Jonathan and Zooey felt an instant connection, and she liked his sense of humor. They took their relationship slowly, starting off as friends first, but they soon realized that there was something more there. Jonathan and Zooey’s relationship becoming public happened only a week after Zooey and estranged husband Jacob Pechenik released a joint statement about their separation and plans to co-parent their two children, Elsie, 4 and Charlie, 2. Despite only going public with their split in September, sources close to the former pair said that they had been apart several months before the announcement.
Zooey and Jacob began dating in 2014 and married in 2015; their marriage lasted four years. In October 2019, Jacob officially filed for divorce. It was also in October that Zooey and Jonathan made their relationship social media official with an Instagram post showing the pair attending Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios with Drew and his wife, Linda Phan. On September 13, Hollywood Life got some intimate photos of Zooey and Jonathan holding hands after leaving Little Dom’s in Silver Lake, California. The origin of this pair can be traced back to August 2019, where they met filming a sibling themed Carpool Karaoke with their famous siblings Drew Scott and Emily Deschanel.
On September 30, the pair displayed some major PDA during a taping of Dancing with the Stars. The relationship became even more serious during Halloween when Zooey accompanied Jonathan to his older brother JD Scott’s wedding to Annalee Belle. Drew, of course, met Zooey at the same time Jonathan did at their Carpool Karaoke filming, but the wedding was the first time many of the Scott family members met her, including JD. Despite the newness of their relationship, sources close to the pair think that they have a good chance to go to distance. At the wedding, which had a classic movie theme, Zooey and Jonathan dressed up as Catwoman and Batman.
Currently, Jonathan and Zooey seem very happy, so she could easily become a permanent fixture in the Property Brothers’ family.
