Poppy Playtime developer MOB Games has revealed a new spinoff called Project: Playtime, and the promotional image features a few hidden secrets for fans to uncover. The Poppy Playtime co-op sequel has been announced in celebration of Halloween and is set to release on Steam in December of this year. Project: Playtime will be free-to-play and allows players to work together in order to explore the mysterious Playtime Co. factory and all the terrifying creatures that lurk within it.

MOB Games always includes hidden hints within its Poppy Playtime teasers, and fans on Twitter have already uncovered a few Project: Playtime secrets. Although MOB Games' promotional image shows a broken GrabPack hand in front of an almost black background with hands hanging from the ceiling, Twitter user BlueStreakM1ke increased the brightness of MOB Games' image to reveal even more. The enhanced image is even gorier, with more bloody hands and another GrabPack, as well as a series of numbers. User Mercury has concluded the numbers are an IP address and discovered the words "Machine Deposit" in the background.

The one-year anniversary Poppy Playtime teaser video actually contained hints about Project: Playtime. Both the release date of October 31 and the box with a star on it seen in the promotional image (which fans have previously hypothesized to be a music box or Jack in the Box of some kind) were found in "glitches" within the Poppy Playtime anniversary video. Fans previously believed that the secrets alluded to the upcoming Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 which is set to release in 2023, but as of today, it is clear that MOB Games had completely different plans.

Project: Playtime has come as a complete surprise to Poppy Playtime fans, as most were waiting solely on Chapter 3's release. MOB Games allowing for Playtime Co. to have a cooperative experience is exciting, and although some argued that hype behind the successful franchise was dying down or that it's unable to compete with its "rival" Five Nights At Freddy's, Project: Playtime may boost its esteem. Poppy Playtime's monster-filled lore has not been completely uncovered yet, and players still have more questions than answers, so MOB Games has nowhere to go but forward at the moment.

Not too much is known about Project: Playtime's plot quite yet, but most are assuming it will simply be a spinoff of Poppy Playtime, with an emphasis on multiplayer rather than lore. That being said, MOB Games leaves secrets in everything, so it's likely that experiencing Project: Playtime will be necessary to unravel Playtime Co.'s mysteries. After its release should be Poppy Playtime Chapter 3, which is rumored to feature the place where the horrifying experiments on children that are alluded to in previous chapters happened. The location is still set in Playtime Co., though, and some fans are wondering if the story will ever leave Poppy Playtime's factory in a future installment.
