The renowned leader of the X-MenProfessor X founded the mutant militant team and continues to lead them and all of mutantkind to this day, but one of Xavier's weirdest variants is a combination of Professor X and the villainous M.O.D.O.K. Across the multiverse of Earth-295, otherwise known as the Age of Apocalypse timeline, M.O.D.O.K. and Professor X are one being, a result of the last-ditch effort taken to save Charles’ life.

The M.O.D.O.K. of Earth-295 was introduced in Uncanny X-Force #12 by Rick Remender and Mark Brooks. In the issue, the X-Force of Earth-616 travels to the Age of Apocalypse timeline in an effort to retrieve the Life Seed. The team is desperate to obtain the object as Warren Worthington, aka Angel, has become the new heir of Apocalypse, and a Life Seed is the only way to stop the transformation. Earth-295 has the Life Seed, and the being the X-Force needs to find it is that universe’s M.O.D.O.K., who is also their version of Professor X.

The M.O.D.O.K./Professor X hybrid being was created when the X-Men of Earth-295 tried to clone Xavier after he was killed by his time-traveling son, Legion, an event that threw the timeline into the Age of Apocalypse. After the cloning process went badly, the only way to keep Professor X alive was to turn him into their own version of M.O.D.O.K. as it is implied that George Tarleton’s version of the villain never came to be due to the changes in the timestream.

The Professor X clone helped the X-Force find the location of the Life Seed, but other than participating in that one mission, the M.O.D.O.K. variant hasn’t been a major player in ongoing X-Men lore, despite the enormous amount of power he wields. M.O.D.O.K. of Earth-616 is equipped with incredibly high intelligence and energy projection, having been scientifically enhanced to be powerful enough to study and handle the Cosmic Cube. The same technology was used on the Xavier clone while also incorporating Cerebro as a further enhancement. Since this version has the same powers as the original Professor X, M.O.D.O.K.'s Earth-616 powers would also be made available to the Earth-295 version.

M.O.D.O.K.’s abilities and intellect, mixed with those of Professor X, make for one incredibly powerful being. Plus, Cerebro became a part of the clone’s mind, enhancing Professor X’s already powerful telepathic abilities. Luckily for the X-Men, the Earth-295 variant is on their side, but if for some reason the tides change within the mind of this ultimate scientific achievement, then the X-Men would have a lot on their hands dealing with the weird Professor X and M.O.D.O.K. variant.
