A talented cosplayer has created a gorgeous cosplay of Princess Zelda, based on her appearance in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. Being a prominent figure in gaming, more than one beautiful cosplay of Princess Zelda has been shared in recent months.
Reddit user and cosplayer Euphoric-Card-4481 has recently shown fans their gorgeous interpretation of Zelda. The cosplay includes all of the A Link Between Worlds' Zelda’s accessories, such as her metallic shoulder pads and bracelets. Also visible are her Triforce earrings and a necklace of red beads. As a whole, this cosplay is both beautifully constructed and extremely accurate. As a result, fan reactions have naturally been very positive. Praise has also gone to the backstage image, in which the cosplayer appears somewhat disgruntled. Many commenters noted that this second image seems to be equally in character, particularly when Link is being distracted by other missions; his long quest to find the hidden Koroks in BOTW, for example, would be particularly exasperating for the Zelda waiting for him to join the battle against Calamity Ganon.
Princess Zelda Cosplay Also Derived From Her Smash Bros. Depiction
The red bead necklace seen in this cosplay is not actually something visible in the relatively simple art style of A Link Between Worlds. Rather, it is found in the design of the Zelda from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which is based on this same incarnation of the princess. Likewise, the shape of Zelda’s circlet and other fine details in this cosplay are also taken from this more detailed interpretation of the princess. The metal ornamentation, such as her shoulder pads, gives Zelda both a regal air and a sense of her being ready for combat if need be. In fully replicating the regalia of the princess, this Zelda cosplay is able to achieve much of the same effect.
With such a wide variety of designs for the titular princess found across the Legend of Zelda franchise, it’s little wonder that Princess Zelda is so popular with cosplayers. With every new title, Zelda’s style constantly changes to match the tone of the world around her, giving cosplayers an ever-increasing range of possibilities. This is distinctly unlike Link, whose green outfit is near ubiquitous in the franchise. His blue Champions Tunic in Breath of the Wild is perhaps the single largest alteration to his standard design that there has ever been. Of course, the hero of Hyrule has his own fair share of cosplays; one shoot last year saw both BOTW’s Link and Zelda brought to life, for example.
This Zelda cosplay is a perfect example of the cosplay craft. The princess is portrayed perfectly by Euphoric-Card-4481, who has definitely earned every piece of positive feedback. Their Zelda is both beautiful and dramatic, and a brilliant representation of the character. The cosplay joins many other notable examples of Zelda cosplays, which are as varied as the princess herself. Thanks to its inclusion in Smash, Zelda's A Link Between Worlds incarnation is particularly recognizable among fans of the franchise. This in turn means that many more players - even those less familiar with the Legend of Zelda games themselves - will be able to properly appreciate this impressive example of a Zelda cosplay.
