The official trailer for The Princess Switch 3: Romancing the Star doesn't reveal a fourth doppelganger, but it does explain how devious cousin Fiona returns. Netflix's hit holiday franchise returns for another installment this November after expanding last year with its sequel. 2020's The Princess Switch: Switched Again brought back Vanessa Hudgens in her dual role of baker-turned-princess Stacy and soon-to-be-queen Margaret while upping the stakes and giving her a third persona in party girl Fiona. In between all the lookalikes and switching around, The Princess Switch 2 naturally found time for plenty of holiday-themed romantic hijinks.
For The Princess Switch 3, Netflix looks to be upping the hijinks side of the franchise even more. Set to premiere on the streamer on November 18, the new movie picks up after the events of last year's sequel as Queen Margaret and Princess Stacy prepare to host a special international Christmas festival. However, things go horribly awry when a priceless relic is stolen. To find the Star of Peace, Stacy and Margaret must enlist Fiona for help. She in turn brings in a dashing stranger (Remy Hii), thus stirring up old feelings.
On Thursday, Netflix unveiled the official trailer for The Princess Switch 3. It holds everything fans have come to expect from this series, from Christmastime traditions to another wild switch between doppelgangers. In short, it includes a lot of Hudgens. Scroll on to watch the trailer below.

The Princess Switch 3 also brings back Sam Palladio as Prince Edward and Nick Sagar as Kevin. While the previous two movies focused more on the romances at the center of the Hallmark-esque franchise, Romancing the Star appears to be taking on a campier vibe by playing up the heist element. Fans hoped the third movie would add yet another Hudgens character to the mix, perhaps through her non-Princess Switch Netflix holiday movie The Knight Before Christmas. Instead of doing that, the threequel has found another way to up the stakes by adding a theft, the mission to retrieve the missing relic, and including three women in the annual switch.
But never fear, Princess Switch fans, there will still be plenty of romance. It's clear that Fiona has some lingering feelings for Hii's charming rogue, and working together to find the Star of Peace will bring them together in a major way. With all three doppelgangers looking to play a major role in The Princess Switch 3, Hudgens must've worked overtime to keep all of them straight. Fans can see how it all turns out when the movie debuts next month.
