Prey star Amber Midthunder reveals that, while she doesn't really like social media, she loves Mark Ruffalo's Instagram. Helmed by 10 Cloverfield Lane director Dan Trachtenberg, Prey is the fifth movie in the long-running Predator franchise (seventh if the Alien v Predator movies are taken into account). The film takes viewers back to the early 1700s and follows a female Comanche hunter named Naru (Midthunder) who comes up against the first alien Predator to land on Earth. Prey has been a hit with both audiences and critics thus farwith many praising Trachtenberg's direction and the film's depiction of Comanche culture.

Midthunder's performance as Naru has also drawn praise from critics, with the character quickly establishing herself as one of the most nuanced and interesting toles in the entire Predator franchise. Viewers might recognize the actor from her appearances opposite Liam Neeson in The Ice Road and The Marksman, while others may know her from series like Legion and Roswell, New Mexico. With Prey exceeding expectations for many fans, Midthunder has been relatively active on social media, responding to praise from audiences and Hollywood industry professionals alike who enjoyed the new take on the Predator franchise.

In a new interview with InStyle, Midthunder delves more into her relationship with social media, explaining that while she doesn't overly care for it in general, Ruffalo's Instagram account brings her particular joy. Midthunder explains that Ruffalo's sense of humor and his interactions with other MCU stars is entertaining, but that she also likes that he's socially conscious and that he posts wholesome family content. Ruffalo, as it turns out, saw Midthunder's comments and had high praise for the Prey star and her advocacy for the fair treatment of Native People in Hollywood and beyond. Check out Midthunder's comments and Ruffalo's uplifting tweet in response below:

"I'm not a huge fan of social media in general, but I find that I spend most of my time on Instagram. But I'm recently getting into Twitter. I love meme pages. And honestly, I love Mark Ruffalo's Instagram. He's great. He's cool because he makes funny videos. I love how he outs the other Avengers cast and puts funny stuff up, but then, also, he's a good source of information. Also, if you're a Mark Ruffalo fan and you see photos of him and his family, it's really sweet. I think he does a great job."

Ruffalo, who has now played Hulk in the MCU since The Avengers in 2012, has nearly 21 million followers on Instagram. In addition to using his social media presence to promote his upcoming projects, the actor is also beloved by many for his advocacy for causes like climate change, gun reform, women's reproductive rights, and many more. Although Midthunder's presence on social media is small by comparison, the actor has been vocal about Prey's importance in terms of Native representation in Hollywood, something that evidently aligns with Ruffalo's own socially-conscious mindset.

Since Prey has proved to be a major hit with audiences, it's likely that Midthunder will start to see additional acting opportunities come her way, potentially opening the door for collaboration with Ruffalo at some point in the future. With the Hulk star and Midthunder now friendly on social media and seemingly aligned in terms of their social values, a movie that allows them to work alongside each other could be an exciting proposition. It remains to be seen what's next for Midthunder after Prey but, at the very least, the Predator prequel role has led to some wholesome social media interactions.
