With news that there will be a Pretty Little Liars reboot from Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa of Riverdale fame, fans are curious to see what the storyline will be. The original show aired for seven seasons and finished in 2017 with a series finale that gave all of the liars happy endings.

It's great that the show will be brought back to life, as fans have definitely missed it. From the mystery of "A" to all of the love stories on the show, the original series was fascinating and fun, and hopefully the new episodes will carry on that dramatic tradition. There are certain things that loyal viewers would really like the reboot to have.

A Rosewood Setting

If the events of Pretty Little Liars were real, then all of America would know about Rosewood since the small town has had so many creepy things happen.

Fans would love to see the PLL reboot set in Rosewood. Otherwise, it wouldn't feel like the same show at all because fans have gotten so attached to this pretty, wealthy, and scary place.

Cameos From The Original Liars

Some characters on PLL are nicer than others but they all have something in common: they are fan favorites who mean a lot to the people who tuned in for almost a decade of juicy episodes.

Sometimes reboots feature cameos from the original cast and it would be so fabulous to see this on the PLL reboot. If the five liars could return for even one scene, it would be fun and meaningful.

Nods To The Original "A"

Part of the fun of watching PLL was wondering who "A" was and it would be nice if the reboot had a few nods to the original "A" figure. Maybe there could be hidden "As" in random places or a character could say something that only fans of the original show would understand.

This would tie the reboot and the old show together and feel comforting as well.

A Connection To The Old Story

While the reboot is said to feature fresh characters, it would be awesome if the show could have some kind of connection to the old story.

Maybe a new character could be related to one of the liars, or even to Ezra Fitz (Ian Harding) or one of the side characters.

A More Streamlined Plot That Isn't Confusing

While watching PLL was always a fun experience, it's true that many of the episodes left fans more confused than they were before, and attempts to clear up each mystery seemed to lead to more rabbit holes and question marks.

When the show comes back, fans definitely hope for a more streamlined plot. It would be nice if the mystery would make more sense and wouldn't be quite so baffling.

Shorter Seasons

It would also be great if the PLL reboot featured shorter seasons, as a 22-episode season can sometimes mean a lot of filler.

A ten or even eight-episode first season would make sense, as it would allow fans of the original series to get to know the new characters without allowing for storylines to feel stale.

At Least One Epic Love Story

Fans thought that many couples could have been in love if the characters had just tried dating, but fans of PLL know that there were a few major love stories that lasted for the majority of the show.

When the show returns, it would be great if it had at least one love story that is epic and magical. Whether it's the sweet relationship that Hanna Marin (Ashley Benson) and Caleb Rivers (Tyler Blackburn) share or the unexpected pairing of Spencer Hastings (Troian Bellisario) and Toby Cavanaugh (Keegan Allen), the reboot has a lot of romance to live up to.

More Use Of Technology

The board game on Pretty Little Liars

If the reboot is going to be about a new mystery, which it seems like it would be, then the characters should use technology a lot more.

For instance, some of the final episodes of PLL involved a board game that the liars had to play because it was the last game that "A" set up for them. This was not only hard to understand but also kind of lame and boring because a board game isn't very technologically savvy. Now that cell phones and social media are such a big part of everyone's lives, it would be nice if the reboot reflected this.

At Least One Old Character Having A Semi-Regular Role

Many PLL characters are hilarious, and fans look back on the original cast fondly.

While the reboot will be about new people, it would be really nice to see at least one original character in a semi-regular capacity. Maybe Ezra still owns The Brew and drops by randomly, or one of the liars' parents is still residing in Rosewood. This would be an enjoyable wink to the long-term fans.

A College, Not High School, Setting

It would be impossible to recreate the magic of the original Pretty Little Liars, and fans loved the show so much because it was a teen drama.

It would be cool if the reboot is set in college, not high school, which would make it easier to get on board and not miss the old episodes so much. There are plenty of opportunities for a mystery on college campus, that's for sure.
