Pretty Little Liars actor Lucy Hale says that she supports the cast of the upcoming reboot series, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin. The original mystery series followed a friend group of teenage girls who were stalked and tormented by an anonymous villain known only as A, following the peculiar disappearance of one of their close friends. Pretty Little Liars was an ABC Family (now Freeform) series that spanned seven seasons and inspired several spins-offs, like Ravenswood and The Perfectionists

The original story came to an end in 2017, but it was not until last year that the Pretty Little Liars reboot series was officially announced. The new teen drama will appear on HBO Max with a new cast in the fictional town of Millwood, leaving Pretty Little Liar’s Rosewood in the rearview. Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin will follow the new group of teen girls who seem to be facing a horrible A of their own, with the story written by Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bring.

In a conversation with TVLine, Hale expressed her support for the cast of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, even commenting on how much she adores actor Bailee Madison. Hale also noted that she will always support other actors, no matter their career journey, and that she considered it an "honor" that Pretty Little Liars' "legacy" would continue. Read Hale's comment on the new Pretty Little Liars generation below:

"Oh my God, it’s so depressing that I already have to give advice to a new generation. But I think it’s great. It’s an honor that they want to continue the legacy of Pretty Little Liars. Like, how cool is that? I also know Bailee Madison, who’s in the show, and I adore her. I’ll always support other artists and actors, no matter what the venture is. I think it’s important that we do that, because there’s not enough of that. And I’m as curious as anyone to see what they’re going to do with it."

Hale commented on her curiosity around the future of the Pretty Little Liars story; something that has been felt strongly by fans since the series ended in 2017. While not much is confirmed about the Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin storyline, there’s no question that it’ll be packed full of mystery, deception and haunting breadcrumbs left by an unknown villian. The upcoming teen drama series will see Bailee Madison, Zaira, Malia Pyles, Chandler Kinney, Maia Reficco, Mallory Bachtel, Eric Johnson, Lea Salonga, and Zakiya Young take up the Pretty Little Liars mantle, and is expected to be released on HBO Max sometime in 2022.

Hale had previously confirmed that the new Pretty Little Liars series would be really "dark," leaving fans to wonder if it will out-do it’s predecessor in its spooky tone. With Riverdale and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’s Aguirre-Sacasa on the project, fans can expect a haunting teen drama with a vicious new A, just miles away from where the story all began in Rosewood. What's more, an original star like Hale’s support for Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin and its cast should have audiences even more excited for the future of the series ahead of the show's upcoming release.
