Played by Ashley Benson, Hanna Marin is the fashionista on Pretty Little Liars who has clever comments ready for any situation and who falls for bad boy Caleb Rivers (Tyler Blackburn). She's a big part of the action at any given moment, whether the storylines revolve around her love life or the many mysteries of Rosewood.
Hanna's life was on an upward track by the show's finale, but it didn't always seem like she would get a happy ending, as she suffered with so many problems over the years. Of course, she also had to deal with being stalked by "A" and all of the tragedies that came along with that. Hanna definitely went through a major transformation from the pilot to the finale.
Hanna Came To Terms With Becoming Pretty And Popular
Hanna got worse as a character, and at the beginning of the show, she was a bit insufferable. Why? Because she was pretty and popular, and she seemed just as bad as Ali when she was the Queen Bee of the friend group.
Hanna and Mona Vanderwaal (Janel Parrish) gave themselves makeovers, but Hanna knew that she used to be teased for her weight and she had trouble getting used to her new status. She also shoplifted a lot and then got caught.
She Dumped Caleb Then They Rekindled Their Flame
No one could hate Caleb and Hanna, as they were one of those perfect couples on PLL who seemed to really get each other. After falling for him in the first season, Hanna got really mad when she learned Caleb was working for Jenna Marshall (Tammin Sursok) who literally paid him to stalk and spy on her. He explained that he loved Hanna and he made sure that he walked away from the agreement once they were serious.

Hanna Felt Conflicted About Mona
Mona messed up a lot, so it was no wonder that Hanna was never sure what to do about their friendship.

In Season 4, Hanna Lost Caleb But Found Ali
Season four of PLL had a lot going on, and by the end of the season, Hanna and her friends found Ali. The fact that she was alive was huge news, and Hanna had to deal with complex feelings about seeing Ali again.
During this season, Hanna also lost Caleb. She thought that he should move to Ravenswood and work on himself, but it was definitely hard for her to say goodbye to him. This was a big change for her as she had to accept that she and Caleb might not be together forever.
In Season 5, Hanna Became An Alcoholic
Hanna is a complex character and in the fifth season, she transformed from a cool, somewhat confident girl to someone who turned to alcohol as a coping mechanism. It didn't help that Caleb was abusing alcohol, too.
Hanna also found out that she probably couldn't afford college as her dad let her in on the realities of the situation. This was tough for her, as she started to wonder what kind of future she could envision for herself.
Hanna Made Her Fashion Dreams Come True
It was always crystal clear that Hanna would go into fashion and that's exactly what she did in the sixth season. She went to fashion school in New York City and started working for a designer.
Hanna started coming into her own as a designer, realizing that she could work for herself and be successful. It was awesome and inspiring to watch her make this dream happen.
Hanna Let Go Of Caleb And Told Spencer She Could Date Him
Caleb had some problems, but he was cute and smart, so it's no wonder that two of the liars fell in love with him.
Spencer Hastings (Troian Bellisario) couldn't help but want to date him, and Hanna gave them her blessing, as she didn't want to break them up or cause a big scene. This was a huge transformation for the character as she was basically admitting that she was ready to let go of Caleb... and it was obvious that she wasn't sure if that was really the case.
She Got Engaged To Someone Else
Pretty Little Liars fans always thought that Caleb and Hanna would end up together, but she took a wrong turn when she got engaged to Jordan (David Coussins).
She seemed to really think that they could be happy together, but it was clear after a while that she wasn't so certain and that the cracks were starting to show.
Hanna Was Kidnapped
Some PLL plot twists were awful, but it was definitely dramatic and crazy when Hanna was kidnapped as season six was finishing up.
She really had a hard time after this event, as she seemed to think that A was absolutely going to end her life, and it seemed like there was nowhere for her to run or hide. It was a very harrowing storyline to watch, and it was clear that Hanna didn't think she would make it. She had a lot of PTSD after this.
She Got A Happy Ending, Married Caleb And Got Pregnant
Fans were pleased that by the end of Pretty Little Liars, Hanna got the happy ending that she had always deserved.
She married Caleb, and while it wasn't a big amazing wedding, it felt sweet and right for them. She also told the other liars that she was pregnant in the final scene. By this point, Hanna was becoming a real grown-up who was with the person that she loved, getting ready to become parents. She finally seemed happy and confident.
