Pretty Little Liars has many famous couples, and Hanna Marin (Ashley Benson) and Caleb Rivers (Tyler Blackburn) are a fan fave pairing. They both don't really fit in with the rest of kids in Rosewood because even though Hanna loves fashion and grew up with money she's a lot smarter than most of the people that she goes to school with. And Caleb is a rebel from the wrong side of the tracks, so to speak.
If it wasn't for Caleb, Hanna just might have ended up with a few different characters. Read on to find out 10 characters Hanna should have been with on Pretty Little Liars (other than Caleb).
Jason DiLaurentis
Sure, Jason DiLaurentis (Drew Van Acker) has a lot of issues when it comes to his family, and he's actually Spencer Hastings' (Troian Bellisario) brother. But that's exactly why a romance between him and Hanna would have been dramatic... which is perfect for Pretty Little Liars.
It's always mysterious when Jason comes back to Rosewood, so it's easy to picture Hanna and Jason becoming romantically involved. Spencer wouldn't be a big fan of this relationship, which would make for some great arguments between the two best friends. There were a lot of plotlines on PLL that fans didn't enjoy, but this would have been a good one.
Ezra Fitz
While Ezra Fitz (Ian Harding) and Aria Montgomery (Lucy Hale) are one of the most well-known pairs on this show, it would have been really interesting to see him date Hanna. Aria is more of a goody-two-shoes than Hanna, who has a rebellious side, so it would actually make a lot of sense for Hanna to be in a relationship with a teacher.
At the very least, this would have made for a great and juicy love triangle, something that viewers always look forward to on a teen drama.
Sean Ackard
Hanna and Sean Ackard (Chuck Hittinger) are in a relationship in the first season of the series, and things fizzle out because their beliefs clash and she doesn't have enough self-confidence to really be with anyone.
But if these two started dating years later, maybe even in the final season, it seems like their romance could have had a very different ending. Hanna likes Sean for a long time before they start seeing each other, and he's a much more innocent person than some of her other love interests, which counts for a lot in creepy, dark Rosewood.
Mike Montgomery
While Hanna and Aria's brother Mike Montgomery (Cody Allen Christian) have a very brief moment on Pretty Little Liars, they date much more seriously in the book series that the show is based on, so it seems legitimate to consider what a romance between the two characters would be like.
Hanna seems pretty embarrassed to say that she and Mike had been together once as she only says this in season four when A forces her to... but dating Mike would be good for her. Hanna cares too much about keeping up appearances so it would be interesting to see her with someone that fans wouldn't expect.
Darren Wilden
Darren Wilden (Bryce Johnson) is a huge jerk, but what if he and Hanna had been together? It's possible that she would have changed him for the better and the whole course of PLL could have been very different. Maybe Darren wouldn't blame the liars so much for all of the strange things going on in town.
Hanna likes doing things that she's not supposed to since she has a rebellious spirit, so a storyline featuring her and Darren dating behind everyone's backs would be compelling to watch.
Jake
Ryan Guzman's PLL character, Jake, starts seeing Aria in the fourth season. They start hanging out because he's a martial arts teacher, but what if Hanna had taken those classes instead and met Jake?
Hanna and Jake would be adorable together, and it would be great for her to date someone who has his own interests (that don't involve all the weird stuff that involves A).
Gabriel Holbrook
Hanna and Gabriel Holbrook (Sean Faris) share a super romantic kiss, so it's clear that she was at least a little interested in him.
It would be so cool to watch Hanna date a detective since that would make the liars' situation with A even more dramatic.
Travis Hobbs
Travis lets Hanna know that her mom, Ashley, didn't commit any crimes, and that really endears her to him. They end up splitting up because Travis likes Hanna more than she likes him, so if Caleb was totally out of the picture, maybe these two would have grown closer. They seemed so sweet together.
Jordan Hobart
Hanna and Jordan Hobart (David Coussins) just might have actually gotten married if Caleb had moved away from Rosewood... or perhaps if Spencer and Caleb had actually ended up living happily ever after.
Hanna doesn't feel the same way about Jordan that he does about her but he does think that she's amazing and does all that he can to make her fashion dreams come to fruition. He's a very loyal partner.
Toby Cavanaugh
How juicy would it be if Toby Cavanaugh (Keegan Allen) and Hanna had fallen in love? It was a clever idea to have Spencer and Caleb fall for each other since it created a huge love triangle, so it's easy to imagine that if Hanna had dated Spencer's soulmate, it would have been top-notch drama.
Toby is a mysterious guy and Hanna is attracted to those types of people, so it would make sense for her to date him. After all, Toby and Caleb share a few similar traits since they're both loyal and also very protective.
