Hit series Pretty Little Liars may focus on the thrilling mystery of a teenage girl who disappears and whose friends are targeted by a scary figure, but the romances on this show keep viewers coming back for more. From the most classic couples who fans hoped would end up together in the series finale to more random pairings that weren't always the best idea, dozens of relationships took place over the show's seven seasons.

Even though there are so many epic love stories on this teen drama, there are some other couples who irritate fans. Here are five couples on Pretty Little Liars that everyone loved, along with five that were just annoying.

Loved: Spencer And Toby

Fans have always loved seeing Spencer Hastings (Troian Bellisario) and Toby Cavanaugh (Keegan Allen) together.

The two characters start talking to one another in the Season 1 episode "A Person of Interest" when they both get creeped out by Toby's sister Jenna (‎Tammin Sursok). In true Pretty Little Liar fashion, they hunt for the truth while sneaking around. Although Toby and Spencer have so many rough patches and she even falls for Caleb Rivers (Tyler Blackburn), these two are just so good for each other. Thankfully, they do find their way back to each other by the time the show is over.

Annoying: Toby And Yvonne

Unfortunately, Toby has a serious relationship with someone who isn't Spencer, and they even become husband and wife. In Season 6, fans learn that Toby is dating Yvonne Phillips (Kara Royster). Things are pretty dramatic between them as she dies in the Season 7 episode "Hold Your Piece" after they get married.

It's hard for a loyal PLL fan to truly believe in this union, though. Yvonne isn't the most likable character; she's too much of a perfectionist, and there's only room for one perfectionist on the show (Spencer, of course, has that characteristic locked down).

Loved: Hanna And Caleb

Hanna Marin (Ashley Benson) and Caleb are another couple that everyone loved on Pretty Little Liars. Ever since their camping trip in the Season 1 episode "A Person of Interest," it's been crystal clear that they could only ever end up together.

Hanna and Caleb's relationship has always been a mixture of playful and serious. In that Season 1 episode, Hanna tries to keep the fact that Caleb is staying with her a secret from her mom, Ashley (Laura Leighton), which leads to some funny moments. But when they go camping, they talk about a lot of things that they don't share with other people, and a connection is formed.

Annoying: Hanna And Jordan

Hanna and Jordan Hobart (David Coussins) are an incredibly annoying couple mostly because he isn't Caleb, and fans ship those two. Okay, there's another reason: it feels like Hanna's not interested in actually marrying Jordan.

As soon as fans learn that Hanna is engaged, it falls flat when it should be a really exciting moment in her life. If Hanna and Caleb had gotten engaged in the final season, fans would have jumped for joy and obsessed over the wedding details. Instead, Hanna's with Jordan, and it doesn't feel right. It seems like she's always hiding one part of herself from him since Caleb understands how tough it has to been to deal with "A."

Loved: Ezra And Aria

Aria Montgomery (Lucy Hale) and Ezra Fitz (Ian Harding) may have a lot of years between them and it might be kind of strange that they date even though he's her English teacher. But forgetting about all that, these two are a solid couple who can't be with anyone else.

Aria and Ezra's relationship couldn't be more romantic. The fact that they have to sneak around at first adds an element of excitement, and Ezra is a poetic, intelligent guy who is Aria's perfect match.

Annoying: Mona And Mike

Mona Vanderwaal (Janel Parrish) dates Aria's younger brother Mike (Cody Christian), and since they can both be irritating characters, it's easy to see that this pairing isn't one of the best.

The biggest problem with their relationship is that Mona wants to be with Mike to essentially spy on Aria. Although she says that she ends up really liking him, it's still way too creepy. It never feels necessary for Mona to have a love interest since her main role in the series is to be mysterious and make the liars' lives difficult.

Loved: Paige And Emily

Paige McCullers (Lindsey Shaw) and Emily Fields (Shay Mitchell) are another couple that everyone loves on Pretty Little Liars. They do have their ups and downs, and a particularly difficult beginning to their relationship as Paige finds it hard to admit her feelings for Emily and is really mean to her because of it.

Once Paige stops that behavior and they start dating one another, they seem like they have a lot in common since they're both serious about swimming and have future goals. They're one of the PLL couples who breaks up and gets back together a few times.

Annoying: Aria And Liam

Aria and Liam Greene (Roberto Aguire) are definitely an annoying couple. Fans learn about their romance in the sixth season, and it isn't great news since it's hard not to want Aria and Ezra to live happily ever after.

Instead of admitting that she should be with Ezra, it seems like Aria is trying to convince herself that she should stay with Liam. They're co-workers at a publisher, and so while they both share a love of literature, she already has a literary connection with Ezra, who's a reader, writer, and English teacher. No scene between Aria and Liam feels right or real.

Loved: Emily And Ali

Even though Emily and Paige are a great couple, it always felt like Emily was just waiting until Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse) would finally wake up and realize that they were meant to be together.

Thankfully, that does happen in the final season, and the two raise twins together. Emily and Ali are both super sensitive and they seem to really get each other. But fans learn in the spin-off The Perfectionists that the couple is having some problems, which is tough to hear.

Annoying: Melissa And Wren

No couple is more pretentious than Spencer's older sister Melissa (Torrey DeVitto) and Wren Kingston (Julian Morris). They're engaged for a bit, and it always feels like Melissa is trying to show off and act like she has such a perfect life.

Of course, knowing that Wren isn't who he says he is and is actually with Spencer's evil twin Alex sheds more light on this romance, and proves that Wren is bad news.
