Part of the typical gameplay in Dead By Daylight is leveling up Survivor and Killer characters and unlocking new Perks and Add-Ons with Bloodpoints, but there is little progression for a character beyond Level 50. Players have the option to Prestige with that character at Level 50. When a player chooses to Prestige in Dead By Daylight, they will reset the character back to Level 1 and unlock a special bloodied version of the character's original costume. They lose all Perks, Items, Add-Ons, and Offerings, but their Teachable Perks will remain available in other characters' Bloodwebs. Players can Prestige up to three times in Dead By Daylight to unlock all three pieces of this exclusive cosmetic set.

Prestige Level in DBD is an integral part of the game as it allows players to unlock new perks, items, and other items. With each prestige upgrade, players are rewarded with a “bloody” cosmetic item to make their character look unique and noteworthy. Having said that, increasing the prestige level in DBD also directly impacts some of the game’s mechanics. For example, players with higher prestige levels can increase the odds of spanning rarer items in the Bloodweb.

Increasing a character's Bloodweb Prestige level in Dead By Daylight can be something of a grind but will continue to incentivize players to use and level up their full roster of Killers and Survivors. It can also be a chance for players to more easily unlock character-based achievements and trophies. Before choosing to Prestige, there are a few things players ought to consider. Here's how to increase a character's Prestige level in Dead By Daylight.

How to Increase a Character's Prestige Level in Dead By Daylight

Survivors in Dead by Daylight

To Prestige a character in Dead By Daylight, players will need to reach Level 50 on that character. This will require them to spend the Bloodpoints they earn each game on Perks, Items, Add-Ons, and Offerings for that character until they complete each level of the character's Bloodweb. Most players will try to reach Level 40 on a character as soon as possible to gain access to all Teachable versions of that character's unique Perks and allow those Perks to begin appearing in other characters' Bloodwebs for different loadouts. Reaching Level 50 is somewhat more difficult, as items in the Bloodweb will cost more, and there are more of them. Luckily, there is an efficient way to farm Bloodpoints in DBD that will get players closer to acquire some of these items.

Once players level up their character to Level 50 in DBD, a small gem will appear in the center of the Bloodweb. Players do not need to complete the Level 50 Bloodweb and can instead click that gem to Prestige their character. They will lose any unused Items, Add-Ons, and Offerings, and the character will reset with only one Perk slot at Level 1. In that character's Inventory, players will find a bloodied version of the character's default top. The next time they Prestige the same character, they will receive the bloodied version of their default bottoms. The final time, they will receive their bloodied face.

Dead by Daylight Huntress

Typically, Level 50 characters have the rarest versions of Perks and can earn more Bloodpoints per match. Players may want to consider waiting to Prestige a character and using that character to earn Bloodpoints instead. This can also be a way to use all the character's best Items, Add-Ons, and Offerings so they are not wasted. Players can then use any Bloodpoints they earn to get another character to Level 50. At this point, they can Prestige the first character and begin farming Bloodpoints with and using items from the new Level 50 character.

Increasing a character's Prestige level in Dead By Daylight does slightly increase the chances of Rare, Very Rare, or Ultra Rare items spawning in their Bloodweb at every level. At Prestige I, there is an added 10% chance for Rare items to spawn. At Prestige II, there is an added 20% for Rare and 10% chance for Very Rare items to spawn. At Prestige III, There is an added 30% for Rare, 20% chance for Very Rare, and 10% chance for Ultra Rare items to spawn. While this is very minor, it can make the grind to Prestige a character somewhat less difficult.

Legacy Skins in Dead by Daylight

Legacy skins are some of the rarest cosmetic items in DBD, as players cannot acquire them after the 1.3.0 Patch. Since the 1.3.0 patch, levering up characters and their prestige level has become far easier. However, players who went through a lot of grind before the patch were awarded an additional Legacy Prestige Clothing item for their hard work.
