Warning! Spoilers ahead for Infinite Frontier: Secret Files #1!

In Infinite Frontier: Secret Files #1, Earth-23's Superman, Calvin Ellis, is revealed to be different from Clark Kent, for one specific reason. Throughout DC Comics' history, there have been many incarnations of Superman. The concept of the multiverse allows an infinite number of alternate doppelgangers to appear. They don't all act the same or look the same, in fact, some of them are the complete opposite of Superman. However, there is one Superman that stands out from the pack. That is, of course, Calvin Ellis aka President Superman.

By day, he is known as Calvin Ellis, the President of Earth-23. By night, Calvin is the Superman of Earth-23. President Superman, created by Grant Morrison and JG Jones, first appeared in Final Crisis. Later, he returned in Multiversity which saw the introduction of the Justice Incarnate, the Justice League of the Multiverse. Now, in anticipation of the upcoming Infinite Frontier mini-series, readers can get a greater insight into the leader of the Justice Incarnate in Infinite Frontier: Secret Files #1, which is dedicated to him.

In Infinite Frontier: Secret Files #1 by Joshua Willamson, Brandon Thomas, Valentine De Landro, Marissa Louise, and Triona Farrell, Director Bones returns as he gives fans the lowdown on President Superman. The whole concept of Secret Files is to prepare readers by giving them insight into some of the leading characters of Infinite Frontier through Director Bones' archive, revisiting stories gone by. In this issue, Calvin's Superman is revealed to be the ultimate version of Superman due to his chosen method of protection, being the President of Earth-23.

As Director Bones states, Calvin is quite similar to all the other Superman's in terms of his origin. Calvin shares many of the key "foundational elements" that make Superman himself. He comes from Krypton, he was raised on Earth, he has superpowers, and he is a hero. These are all defining factors of every iteration of Superman, on any Earth. What makes Calvin unique is that he doesn't just rule through superpowered might, but through political power as well. Parallels could be drawn to the many times that Lex Luthor has found ultimate power by becoming the president. It lends him an upper hand as he is well respected and can do what's best for humanity through both sides.

Though President Superman has the same power levels as Clark Kent, he excels on another unique level. His power to do what's right is far beyond anyone else, but that's not even the last point. President Superman leads the Justice Incarnate, arguably the most vital Justice League in the Multiverse. They act as the first line of defense from the Multiverse's coming threats. Infinite Frontier: Secret Files is a series that acts as a predecessor, introducing us to our heroes, before the coming crisis at the hands of Darkseid in Infinite Frontier #1.
